A couple of posts after this one you said Schweizer isn't a top international. So according to you, this was not "world level". So, Parker did indeed outkick Schweizer.
The title is incorrect. It should say she "finished ahead of Schweizer". A 67 last lap in a slow race is not a kick at world level.
67 is faster than your Mile PB pace. Lol

No, that isn't according to me. Valby doesn't have a kick even though she can finish ahead of another runner (who is coming off injury). But if Parker goes to the Olympics I can't wait to see how she goes against someone from Sri Lanka.
You have stooped to a place so low that we can't see the top of your head. Valby is an Olympian at age 21. You predicted that she had no future and that Tuohy was far better than her. Now tour bar is that she may not medal in the Olympics because she has no kick. You win.
I didn't say that. That's your own Valby fetish speaking. I simply said a 67 sec last lap is not a "kick" at a top level in the event - especially in a race where she was nearly 3 minutes slower than the wr. She isn't in the top 100 in the world. That is why she won't medal in the event. Her fans are blinded.
The days of 58 and 59 last second in the 10000m ended with Tirunesh Dibaba and Meseret Defar. ELITE KICKERS NOW WIN WITH 62 to 64 seconds last laps in a fast 10, every blue moon 🔵 one may click off a 59 to 60 in a slow to moderate pace World Class 10000m.
Have to say I agree with this. I really like Weini, nothing against her at all and a great story. But with fresh legs, if she's at sub-30 level right now she absolutely RUNS AWAY that last 400; instead, she never led a lap and looked like she had to work very hard indeed to win by only half a second. Not seeing it.
...
Give me a break, Weini definitely is in MUCH BETTER form than her 30:33 pb; however, when has she ever been known as a kicker? Weini isn't a great kicker and still put 5 to 7 meters on both Parker and Karissa in the last 50 meters.
I mean, it’s great that you want Kelati to be at sub 30 level, but the reality is that if she were that, needing a kick to barely beat two runners that had already logged two previous 5Ks wouldn’t even be required.

But you saw that she ran the last 3k sub 9, last 2k 5:48/49 and last k 2:53? I am pretty sure she is not world class yet but I think she can run ~14:40, what is quite some level for a U23 runner.

Weini isn't a kicker and her main purpose was to put herself in position to make the team and than go for the win. Time will tell if all three Americans stay healthy, who will end up top American and closest to sub 30 minutes.
I don’t understand why some posters are so negative on Valby. She front-runs and pushes the pace when she has to do so - we all know that isn’t easy to do particularly against the competition she had in the Olympic Trials, but she did this with some success. The last 4-5 laps of the women’s 10,000 were exciting and fun to watch because she ratcheted up the pace when nobody else would do so. With her looks and the way she runs, she’s the type of athlete who could bring in a lot of fans to the sport, which is something we should all support.

31:50 would appear to qualify as "slow to moderate". Actually not moderate. Just slow.

14.40 is a very big jump from 14.51 in the same year. I would immediately think WADA would be interested if it were to happen.
I'm just extremely elated that parker made the 10. Karissa was just completely content to never EVER assist in pacing and leading and just use all of the front runners energy. If she won you guys would be going crazy over her in comparison to Kelati. So glad the race played out exactly how it did. Go Kelati go Parker.
Karissa only ever tried to lead the last 600 of the 10k but it was an actual race then. Not a sit on someone and use them up type of race. I get that the goal is to make the team. I just really really despise this form of racing. I'd even argue that is isn't competitive because then the race starts to look like a bowerman time trial affair.

Utter nonsense. She ran 14:51 in a non rabbited race in less than great conditions. Put her in a diamond league event in northern Europe with good pacers and she could do it right now.
