Then obviously, the trans-identified people you've met are reasonable and have sensible heads on their shouders. There are many of them around. I've met quite a few who take that view too.
But unfortunately, many trans people with public platforms today do claim that they've changed sex - and a large number of the male ones who are prominent public figures frequently insist that they are female.
On the Daily Show in 2022, Veronica Ivy/Rachel McKinnon - a middle-aged trans-identified male who has won world masters titles in women's track cycling - told Trevor Noah:
I am a woman, that’s a fact. I am female. All my identity records, my (bike) racing license, my medical records say “Female.” And I’m pretty sure I’m made of biological stuff. So I’m a biological female as well.
In a taped interview in 2019 that's on YouTube , CeCe Telfer said:
I honestly don't even consider myself as trans I just consider myself as a female and it's unfair because that's the the scientific definition that describes what and who I am…
I know that I'm a female…
I'm a straight female, a transgender female who is heterosexual
I don't like to being like seen as like stronger like musclular and jacked. Like if somebody calls me jacked like I feel like no I'm a female I'm not supposed to be jacked.
Competing at Nationals this past weekend those girls were far superior than I am, they were so much faster than me. And nobody understands that those girls are producing so much more testosterone than I am, like they are producing way more testosterone so I have to overwork, I have to overcompensate in order to even get to that level, like get anywhere close to where they’re coming from.
And I don't have the advantage because all of these girls are like three times faster than me like they have me over here thinking like oh these bxtches are on drugs I'm sorry
It's really hard for trans girls like myself to to get any attention we want from men and it's just like, "listen guys, we are girls we’re females too."
The fact that I'm looking for [attention] from men and straight men and not like you know
just any men is just proves that I am a heterosexual female
At the end of the day I know that I'm a female and nobody can tell me anything [different].
On "The Hill" in June 2022, Telfer said:
i'm a female athlete so I compete in female sports.
At the end of the day we are women we are female athletes as well and we should be treated and see as such.
Asked what needed to happen for Telfer to conclude that society was fully accepting of people with trans identities, Telfer said that other people and particular other athletes
have to see us as the athletes as the female and males that we are. We are trying so hard to be a part of a group that is denying us. For [progress to happen], that group has to see us as the women and men we are. Then other people will see us that way too.
So it's all about other people, other athletes like embracing us as athletes and embracing us as the women that we are - or the men that we are.
Major organizations such as like Michelin are seeing us, incorporating us in um commercials with other female athletes. They’re saying “hey we see you - you are a female athlete.”
Well that’s what it takes, incorporating us in the category of female athletes as women just like the other female athletes.
There are unequal conditions, there are biases within... the community of male and female
athletes because female athletes don’t get the same resources, we don't get the
same support, we don't get the same um the same help as male athletes.
So [when companies like Michelin make ads featuring male athletes in the female category], that just boosts that um exposure and that’s just the kind of support we need. We need to be seen as female.
In a podcast that Telfer did with two other trans-identified males for Outsports a couple of years ago, they all asserted that taking exogenous estrogen and T suppressants drugs had made them "completely female in every way by changing the DNA in each and every cell in our bodies."
There are legions of males with trans identities today who say they are female.
