We prefer to have 1 thread per subject matter and have merged three threads into 1. The 2nd thread was entitled, "Why does Jakob talk so much trash?" The third thread was titled, "New Jakob Interview: Olympics should be “a walk in the park”, calls some competitors “a**holes and idiots”:
If Jakob was truly as confident as he claims, he wouldn't need to disrespect and put down the competition like this. There's a difference between "I'm the best" and "the others are weak." I hope Kerr, Nuguse, and others give him a good ass-kicking in the final.
Why would he qualify this with excuses. Not getting injured is actually a part of training. Injuries are largely preventable. So if he gets injured - if its not an accident, it's his fault. just like his godawful tattoos.. Presumably.
I never cease to be amazed by how insecure even the most accomplished people in life can be. We all know people like this at work - trying hard to put themselves on a pedestal when they already are there (literally, in his case).
Starting at 10:00 he says defending his Olympic title should be a walk in the park if he doesn’t get sick or injured, and appears to take a shot at certain competitors again. Thoughts?
He's talking about European Champs in Rome, not Olympics. Podcast is by European Athletics.
But this is a runner who claims winning his feature event at the Olympics should be "a walk in the park" when he has been beaten in consecutive championship finals over that distance. Where was "the walk in the park" then?

He said the walk in the park will be in Paris. We will see whether he is right or wrong.
I like this scenario. There is more to that race than Jakob and Kerr. That's a problem track has- hyping two individuals and one of them doesn't make finals or really is sick or injured and can't run at all.
Although, I like Jakob, I like his arrogance because he's putting on a show and this could lead to some good coverage for NBC leading up to the race.
Track is not hyping 2 individuals. 2 individuals are hyping themselves, and since last summer one of them has been walking the talk.
you mean kerr when he dodged jakob and nuguse at pre?

i don't think jakob was referring to paris. it seems he was referring to the euro championships.
