I definitely agree with this x 100. The over-the-top fawning & gushing also weirds the women out, though. There’s a difference between that and just being a fan of someone.
Soon we’ll be reading the drivel from Chef Gordon Ramzi as he incessantly fawns over Femke Bol. We’ll have other fan boys going on & on about Keely Hodgkinson. Most fans of the sport appreciate the athletes but can separate their fantasies when praising them. Others are incapable of that.
Are any of you fans of real sports? There are thousands of posts about Purdy and Mahomes and Mccafrey. 50 year old men buy merchandise with their names on it. The haters of Valby assume that her fans are only for the reason that she is attractive. Millions are fans of actors and athletes and singers partly due to their looks. I really think some of you live in this tiny world of running.
No. You are confused. The top 16 have the opportunity to enter the meet. Sometimes, it can go much deeper than 16. Your logic makes no sense. Valby has the opportunity to enter dozens of meets this week. Not entering doesn't mean she loses every event at every meet. You are referring to people who enter a meet and take a spot from someone else and then quit because they are selfish and scared little children. Coaches hate athletes and coaches who do this.

You’re missing the point.
It’s one thing to be a fan of someone, possibly even because of that person’s looks or physical attributes, but it’s another thing entirely to go on and on about their appearance and actually put those thoughts here on this forum.
TMAFFHASFNE, or whatever the fork his name is, takes it too far. I’ve read others that have gone on and on about Keely Hodgkinson’s butt. It’s fine to admire these things but the nonstop gushing is just weird .
Are all the meets UF went to without Valby so far this season losses for her?
The people just want to see her actually race someone who can compete with her. I was disappointed that Tuohy didn't race well in the fall at Nationals, I was disappointed when Valby skipped the US champs on the track last spring. Now she doesn't seem interested in racing anyone during indoors. If I didn't know she needs an individualize training plan, I would have assumed she was being coached by Jerry already.

I am not going to take the time to look for them. This forum has a search function or you can use Google Advanced Search. Look for them. You’ll find them.
I don’t know why he was banned but it wouldn’t surprise me if he was banned for being a creep.

Exactly! Where are those posts. Plain and simple, the guys that complain about thus guy are touy-ites, because his "Expect great things!" posts owns them, as a reminder of the devastation they've suffered for the past 9 months.

Hi, TMADDDHASFNE 👋
How many monikers are you going to use in this thread?

And it's not like his "Expect great things" (EGT) posts were started in order to 'poke the bear' and antagonise the tuohy fans, because he was posting EGT back in the spring when Valby was still limping around the track. He got the valbymaniac train started again, back then when it was looking bleak.
Valby's likely racing schedule. Indoor SEC and Nationals. Outdoor SEC, Regional and Nationals. After that depends on circumstances and fitness at the time.
Valby has a decent shot. There are definitely a lot of people ahead of her on the list for now that should be favored over her, but she has a shot.
Monson is the only true lock in my opinion. Cranny would be if she was still with BTC but I want to see her race now that she's with Boss to see if I actually think she's got a shot. A healthy Schweizer is a near lock as well, but I'm not sure the status of her surgery, etc.
Aside from those three, only one of which is a lock, I don't know that I see a huge gap between the folks ranked ahead of her and Valby.
Here's the list:
1 Alicia MONSON (LOCK) 2 Elise CRANNY (PROBABLY IN, BUT TEAM BOSS NOW) 3 Natosha ROGERS (14:52 PB) 4 Elly HENES (14:47 PB) 5 Whittni MORGAN (15:02 PB) 6 Weini KELATI FREZGHI (14:53 PB) 7 Josette ANDREWS (14:46 PB) 8 Katelyn TUOHY (15:03 PB) 9 Fiona O'KEEFFE (15:01 PB)
So of 12 people ahead of her on the ranking list, there are five that don't have business being ranked ahead of her (Morgan, Tuohy, O'Keefe, Wasserman, Lipari), some women that will likely opt for the 10,000 or already opted for the marathon (O'Keefe, and potentially Kelati, Infeld, others if they are geared more for 10K). Then you have a bunch of people with PRs right around Valby's give or take 5ish seconds. I would favor some of those people over her, but also tend to think she has a higher ceiling given her age than someone like, say, Henes.
Looking at this list, I’d place Valby around 6th or 7th. Monson, Cranny, Schweizer, Henes, and Andrews are the only ones I’d place in front of her (who are likely planning on racing the 5000.) Doubtful that Rogers, Kelati, or O’Keeffe are.
I’d say Valby’s indoor 14:56 is tied with Infeld’s outdoor 14:50. With further improvement this year, there’s a real chance she can qualify.
