Valby is poised to be in the top 3 at Trials 5K (along with Monson and Cranny). Would love to see her in the Olympics
aren't people saying she is shooting for steeple now? from citius interview...
They are options. We don’t have enough information here to conclude what option is best for her.
It’s possible (I don’t know) that her chances of making either team in 2024 are rather small, so keeping the sport fun and engaging and improving overall physicality may be sufficient reasons in themselves to try the steeple.

Elly Henes will have something to say about that.
Schweizer ran 4:04/15:02 this summer. She just had surgery but she will be back .. Andrews, Morgan, Tuohy, Henes, Rogers... Valby will have competition.
Sort of like Tuohy having something to say about Valby smoking her this season. Yes Henes will say something. Her mother will make up an excuse.
Except Henes already has the times that people are simply projecting onto Valby and Tuohy. Has the standard with a 14:47 and has broken 15 multiple times, something Valby and Tuohy haven't actually done yet.
I wouldn’t be surprised if in the back of Tuohy’s mind, there is a thought: “I know Elly, I’ve run with Elly, give me six months and I can race Elly.”
Henes 3000 pb 8:36
Touhy 3000 pb 8:35
They are kind of already in same league.
There's Cranny, Schweitzer, Monson and then the next group. Touhy in that group, she's now been in the Usatf race twice, and Valby can get there this year.

Sort of agree.
Yes she has a faster 3k and mile PR than Henes. But to the other posters point, Henes has broken 15 multiple times. Henes also has a fast 10k and faster 1500m PR.
Tuohy ran 8:35 once, but we have not really seen that kind of time since and she has yet to break 15. I think she is on the bubble of the next group behind Kelati, Infeld, Henes, Andrews, etc until she shows more consistency.

Keeping the sport fun, engaging and improving physicality, is one of the wackiest things I’ve ever read. She will run her best event, which is the 5000m.

I assumed that you knew how to read but I guess not since you had to ask. No you didn't mention Tuohy. Try to follow the logic. Valby made a big jump this fall. She left Tuohy in the dust. Tuohy was better than Henes when they were competing together in college. Transitive property says Valby will now beat Henes.
