I've already elaborated in many comments before. I thought i answered to you too.
Anyway i will list the reasons again:
1) incredibily strong field (five 12'35"-12'40" guys)
2) recovery (the ones that "double" are less fresh than those who focus only on 5k).
3) Gjert-Jakob end of collaboration (Gjert was the only one who could know how to improve Jakob performances and, overall, how to program the peak of shape.
4) ethiopian team work.
1) is not a reason
2) this is speculation
3) this is an assumption without evidence. Actually he has improved this season at 1500. Jakob says they know how to peak the shape. They have done it before, i.e. 2022.
1.) work as a team and take it out from the gun from the start at 12:40 flat pace, make him show he can run that or faster
2.) Set a decent pace and go from 3000m out and drop as close to 7:30 possible. (Almaz did it to women with much faster 3000m pb then her but her 8::22 got the job done against 1500m WR holder Genzebe Dibaba.)
You don't Need to neutralize Jakob, he can't simply hold the pace of the 5k guys this year. Ethiopians, which have a very strong sense of group and union and are very team oriented will sacrifice one between Aregawi, Kejelcha and Gebrhiwet in order to keep a crazy pace and win the race. Ethiopians are the favourites, the outsider is Cheptegei.

Theres going to be zero Ethiopian team work.
Explain when Kejelcha/Gebrewhit ever ran a ‘team’ race.
Aregawi will be smoked after the 10k against a big field. Already looked tired in his last 5000m in the Diamond league so doubling is not going to help his chances here.
Jakob will be more than recovered after the 1500m rounds/finals. Wont say the same about the 10k guys doubling though

Great call here
The parallels to "how can anyone beat Farah" are quite amusing to me.
How to beat a guy with a fast 1500 PB and the strength to run 12:4x?
Ethiopian/Kenyan teamwork, someone taking it out hard and running the kick out of him, surges of pace etc. All the same comments and history showed they do not really work. The way to beat someone like this in the 5k is wait for them to get slower, or get faster.

Yeah Cheptegei was incredible in that race!
Ethiopians very team oriented, very ready to sacrifice themselves for the pace

You will beat Jakob, by setting a fast pace on him, You try to beat the opponent with his weapon. Very strong strategy.
Jakob "can't simply hold the the pace of the 5k guys this year". Why can't he? Do you have the slightest indication that he can't? If you answer provide some empirical evidence.
It's called sport. Take a 12'48" runner who runs 1500m batteries + final two days before the 5k final and let him compete with a bunch of 12'35"-12'40" guys that only runs that event (some of them) while some others run 10k seven days before. Times, recovery and team work are everything in athletics.
It's very funny, guys, when you write that Jakob is a 12:48 guy, and you believe that.

great comment
Who would be the sacrificial lamb among the Ethiopians? Finishing with something like a 2:10+ last 800m would be humiliating. The other thing is that if he’s not a medal threat, the best runners would know he’s coming back, and would give him some space to run.
I do not see a single way they beat Jakob if he is able to hold a 7:54 2 mile and a 3:27 1500m. Even if they make it a 12:40 race they will be too gassed from the rounds and heat in Paris. The only way is if they make it a 12:35 race which is never happening. This guy will probably win every final until 2028 barring injury.
Jakob is fearless, the most fearless runner I've ever seen. In the 2019 worlds and only 18 years old he went for the win with 400 or 300 m similar to Steve Prefontaine in the 72 Olympics. He died at the end as Pre did and missed a medal. But it was his aggressive attitude that was so impressive and he was so dissatisfied. imagine any of the 18 year old superstar HS runners in the US doing that. We talk about all those great HS runners but can you imagine any of them finishing 5th place in the 5,000 world championships. It is Jakob's fearless attitude that makes him so hard to beat. He fears no one, esp the Africans. He's been running against them and beathing most of them all his life. He has the mental edge and has a very good chance of winning the 5,000 and he knows it and that is what makes him so damn tough! In some ways he reminds me of Tirunesh Dibaba the baby face destroyer when she was young. Looks so unassuming but with the heart of a lion!
I can sign this, one of the best Jakob's race, (for people who understand something) I had watched the race several times.

it was something to watch, maybe even more so watching it now with hindsight. its not everyday you see guys go lactic that hard in the last 150 meters. i wonder if he anticipated that could happen or if he was fully confident he could finish like that.
You cannot neutralize Big Jake in the 5000 without rabbits. Nobody can drop him, he is too strong. And nobody entered can beat him down the home stretch. He has no weakness as a 5000m runner in an unrabbited race.
