Per letsrun: "World Athletics’ scoring tables equate a 3:49.11 1500 to a 4:06.59 mile, while the LetsRun rule of thumb (1500 time x 1.08) pegs it as a 4:07.44."
Is there a new drug or something? The times this year are bonkers. Also, crazy stuff in the TdF.
At a certain point, I think you have to accept that it's not a new drug. otherwise, you'd have to conclude that it's a a new drug AND everyone's on it.
I think psychology and bonkers pacing is the new "drug." Considering what's maybe possible, and then sending the pacers and wavelights off on paces that no one would have considered before.
Athing Mu has the tools to become the first woman under 4 minutes in the mile.
No she doesn't
This has more down votes than up. You people are crazy. You think Mu has the tools to run 8 seconds faster than Faith. Or that podcast a couple of years ago with Ritz and Ryan Hall and Webb when ritz and Hall both said they didn't regret going sun 4 because they really didn't have the tools for it.
I think Mu is incredibly talented but she's not close to having the tools to run sub 4.
Crazy that cranny won the 5/10k double at USAs 2 weeks ago and just came back the break the previous American record in the mile and only get out leaned by Hiltz at the line(who got the record!)

Faith is the new drug. She is literally raising the bar for everybody. Sifan started it, though.
