Rutgers is no longer the worst men’s team in the Big 10, Nebraska grabs that honor.
Yes, but Rutgers women also second to last like men....making them the worst XC team in the BIG10. They got a new coach in 2020, but they appear worse now than they were before him (how is that possible?)
But the women's team is young (can any of them drink legally?) JR, FR, SO, JR, SO, FR.
They had a native Wisconsinite (Olin Hacker) win the NCAA 5k championship just a couple years ago lol
Only took 7 years, with the son of an NCAA and US Champ, who was a Foot Locker & NXN runner-up. So if that's what it takes to have a Wisconsin native run well for Mick, we might be waiting a while.
The year Olin won one NCAA title, the only guy ahead of him NXN & Foot Locker as a HS senior finished 4th & 6th... at Worlds; and also set 3 American records. Awesome that Olin got a national title, but to think it was the result of some masterful job by Mick Byrne is laughable.
Badgers 1st (2nd place) and 7th women both from Wisconsin.

Mick Byrne coaches the Wisconsin women's XC team (where 5 of their top 7 are WI natives) about as much as Deion Sanders coaches the Colorado Women's XC team.
NAU has as many Wisconsin HS grads on their men's XC roster (4) as the Badger men currently do.

Mick is a good coach, if you think longevity and sustained success is a fluke, then I bet you have never coached successfully before.
Dion (Lavar 2.0) is marketing himself and his quarterback son. The team members and media are pawns in his game. It's good business for Colorado.
