Anyone else thinking she might go pro after outdoor track?
Wilson, that is.
Quite frankly I was a little surprised she didn't go pro after last season. The times she was running + making a worlds team in two of the toughest events in the US right now made me think she ready.
She will after this year. She ran the 2nd fastest 400m indoors EVER today - a time that would have been a world record, breaking a Jarmila record in the process, if it was run a month ago.
IMO she will run 48 high, 52 low, and split 48 low outdoors. I expect that she will win 400h and 400m this year at NCAAs.
Syd better watch out - Wilson and Bol are looking scary. I'll wait until Syd actually opens up her season to provide any real judgment but she has real competition this year.
Wonder how close she'll get to McLaughlin's 400m hurdles mark outdoors
record is 52.75 and she's run 53.08 already. She definitely has the ability but no one else is really in the ball park so its a question of if she can do it without being pushed.
Why mess with the hurdles - she is perhaps the top 400 meter runner in the world outside Bol.
How many more years of eligibility does Gregory have left?
I think she is done - not even sure if she has outdoor eligibility though I would have to check. For all the talk about Clingers age, they both graduated from hs in 2017 I beleive
Nope it looks like she has run outdoors 2019, 21, 22 so she should still be eligible. Did not run for AR in track in 2018 either season

Miller-Uibo? Paulino has gone sub 49 too. She wouldn't be better than Sydney either.
Miller-Uibo is currently pregnant, so she won't be at World's this summer.
very true. They didn't specify switch to the 400 for a one year cycle so i took it as more of a career focus switch instead of a 2023 worlds switch. My bad if that's not what was implied. She could definitely do well at the 400 this year.
Crazy that Olivia Howell (20th) and Margot Appleton (22nd) got in on scratches and ended up 1st and 4th in the mile
Howell has certainly shown that level of talent but has been inconsistent. Appleton getting 4th I do admit shocks me. Part of it is the performance of some runners especially those who doubled in DMR but still.
Not to discount any performances, but I wonder how much the altitude was an x factor for the distance runners. Maatoug faded in the final but was a really strong tripler at ACCs for example. Some runners may have just dealt with it better than others. Or have been sleeping in an altitude tent etc.
Lost by 0.03 to Houser who threw his arms out and slowed down at the line. Bastien actually looked like he bumped into his arms... wouldn't be shocked if there is a protest.
Dwight Stones has the unique skill of making even the most exciting race underwhelming. No passion. Manages to put some sort of negative spin into even the best of performances.
Can’t help but feel that Basten wasted his chance by sticking to the rail in that one. He has such a good kick and he kept getting boxed/his stride checked for the last 600. Hard to backseat quarterback the race, but maybe his kick would have done it over more distance running out wide?
