Can any of the down votes tell me what value it adds putting in where athletes were born & making a point to do it multiple times? It's overkill the way they do it. It's self-serving/agenda driven. These are the US XC Champs. I want to be excited about the race. Lots of fast athletes and it's Kenyan born this Kenyan born that. Everyone immigrated here.
Incorrect. Plenty of people were born in the USA, notably The Boss. The list also includes me. It does not include Shorter, Salazar, Khannouchi, Meb, Tuliamuk, Kelati, Fisher, and the many WCAP and ex-WCAP runners very frequently discussed here. The number of all-time American greats who are immigrants vs. native-born is huge compared to the percentage in the overall population. The fact that so many noteworthy runners come from the comparitively small number of citizens that immigrated here is noticed by the Brojos and many other posters. It is, in fact, a meaningful distinction.
