Maybe someone else more versed can chime in on how the Tuohy deal differed from a typical pro contract. IIRC, she wasn’t beholden to typical pay-for-performance stipulations (or other). (Sorry, too busy right now to investigate.)
If Valby doesn’t follow Solinsky, I think OK State would make sense.
Natalie Cook and Valby training together as low mileage runners.
There's a difference between low mileage and injured cross training half of the week. They likely wouldn't be training together.
They both do a lot of elliptical training. So if you consider 2 people using elliptical machines side by side as training partners, then yes they would be training partners.
There were have been rumors on this board over the years about Nike’s low-balling. I wonder how long PV has been made aware of this potential Coach move.
Who knows? Maybe she will stay in FL for now, and maybe entertain other offers later.

If Valby is just finding out Christmas week that her coach is leaving, that's a lot to think about between now and when the semester starts about where to transfer.
In that case she might stay at Florida until June just because she wants more time to make the correct decision.
It's also possible that Solinsky had already worked out a deal with Oregon well before the job opening was publically announced, so it's possible that Valby has known for a while.
Funny you say that because Brosnan is working like crazy right now to get transfers. Don't think he'll get Valby but I would love to see everyone's reaction if that happened.

If Brosnan can get a Big Bear training camp for UCLA distance athletes, where the athletes would live and take online classes, then Valby should definitely take that into consideration. 😁

Give up already on your rediculous idea that Brosnan will move his entire team away from UCLA for a semester and stick them up in the mountains.
Aren't you aware that some majors have classes that must be done in person? The runners are in fact STUDENT athletes who have a lot of other things they are doing on campus besides running.
UCLA simply wouldn't allow a move to a mountain camp.

Patience, patience…the landscape is changing. A lot can happen by LA ‘28.
I don't really think he would take a pay cut but based on the fact that he didn't respond to my daughter, it seems likely that he is leaving. That is unless he is a terrible recruiter.
