WTF is wrong with the women's race camera in the split screens... so bad.

The most charitable interpretation of the incredibly sucky coverage of the actual race--men's and women's elites--is that they're trying to get all the human interest stuff out of the way early so that they can focus later on on the actual race.
I'm not holding my breath for that.
Ruth looks smoother than her pacer.
Does Flotrack still require a subscription if you VPN in?
Do they not know that Mantz is breaking the American record today?! Why are they not showing him?!?
You know what the World Marathon Majors should do with the money that they’re no longer paying the winner? Invest in real marathon coverage in the US. Watching Peacock makes me realize that it would be impossible for a casual or borderline running fan to think marathon racing is cool. If they treat it as an investment in converting people who tune in into even casual fans, maybe they’d be able to expand interest
Herpasa Negassa looks to be off the back. Maybe heading back to Mantz et al.

Wow, 10K in 30:40 for Chepngetich.
Pace 2:09:23
Chepngetich only 20 seconds behind Mantz at 10k lmao
They just said, on Flotrack, Ruth is about 45 seconds behind Mantz at 10 KM. Not exact quote

Looks to have been caught by chase pack. Surprise there.
World Athletics should mandate Elite coverage for any race that wants to be a major.
They should have an in-house streaming platform to access majors and other athletics events.
I'd happily pay to know I could see all the majors and major champs yearly and not rely on this awful coverage.
World Athletics could also invest in the infrastructure to cover these events, cycling can cover 200km stages in mountains but some races (5th Ave Mile comes to mind) are filmed on potatos.

Settle down losers. They have to cover a mens race, womens race, m/w wheelchair and the mass race. This is the exact same type of coverage Chicago has given for at least 6 years (what I can distinctly remember). Did you guys come here just to whine? The coverage is fine.
Lol no, it’s really not. It’s made me a believer in capital punishment.

Last few minutes, coverage has actually been great.
Diego Estrada on point with his comments. They need to use him more in this coverage.

I don't understand why Peacock wouldn't take the commercial-free world feed -- like they do with Diamond Leagues -- instead of using the NBC feed. If you're watching the Chicago Marathon on Peacock, you want to see it presented as a sporting event and not some celebration of the city.
that men's water station pickup was horrific. everyone seems to have survived thankfully

Mantz 45:13 / Chepngetich 46:19 at 15K
Ruth slowing slightly last 5k "only" 15:40. Finally caught by the 2:10 men's pack lol.
