Don't sleep on Arop. Destroyed the DL field last time now that he has figured out that he doesn't need to lead the whole race. Has yet to be in a field going fast the entire way this year.
Still not convinced that Burgin can handle 3 fast rounds - remains to be seen.
Yes I missed him! 1:44.39 to win Canadian champs and a 1:43.2 PB with multiple DL wins. Guy is firmly in the mix.
Arop's weakness is that he doesn't do well in slow races but that often leaves him front running and exposed. This is why Arop has been one of the best Diamond League runners in 2021-22 with 3 wins, 7 podiums total - more than any other 800 guy in that period, yet didn't make the final. Fast even DL races suit him better.
If Burgin can take out the final hard it would set things up perfectly for Arop's favourite style of race. I've had the chance to meet him and honestly one of the nicest, humble people on the circuit. Very soft spoken. I'd love if he could get on the podium.
-- Femke Bol will win Worlds. She is jogging 52's. Absolutely gorgeous woman too. Stunning.
-- Another "intersex" male now dominating the women's 800. Sigh.
-- Wild men's 3000. Who is this guy who won?? And, like everyone else, I'm happy to see that Stewart is recovering from his jab injury. Wonder what protocol he followed.
-- Odds of picking a World favorite for the men's 800 is impossible. Totally random bunch of 1:44 dudes this year. It's crazy.
Says a lot that people reported a benign post of mine responding to such slander against Moraa but leave this nonsense up. Says a lot.

If Burgin gets to the final, he's favourite. All of those guys tonight were dying and the people who looked kind of strong, like Robert, were running 1:45. Burgin has looked supreme in his last two races, so smooth running 1:43 and 1:44 - at least until the race is over and he throws up.
Burgin has to be favorite. Also, if he hadn't been injured last season, probably would have been the youngest 800m Olympic champion in history.

Burgin will take it out hard, he doesn't know another way to run. That might be his weakness right now. If he's in the final, he'll make it a pure fitness test. I can see him being caught in the last 10m just as much as I can see him running away with it and running 1:42

Moula was dying? Don't know what race you were watching. The other guys in the race outside of Korir are secondary contenders who Burgin is expected to beat even if they sneaked into the Olympics final last year.
Another guy I should toss in is Dobek who can't be discounted.
See the head-on camera, Moula was in pain. No doubt, he gritted it out, but he was digging in and losing form to run 144:6. Burgin holds it together which makes me think there's more in the tank
