I know Alan and he has fun trolling wealthy fanboi wannabes. No harm. No foul. It's click bait.
What a worthwhile contribution to society. Like I said, he's a clown and not to be taken seriously.
Pre wore adidas from what I remember
Anyone who uses the word "hagiography" in this context is probably a pedant, so it's not all that surprising the race card was pulled I guess
I read Alan is from L.A. I'm from Western Europe. Where do teams stay in L.A. from March through summer? Or do they hang out at hotels around LAX,. We will meet up at Mt Sac, UCLA, USC, Orange Cost College. We'll also be racing at Stanford, Oregon, U New Mexico, NAU, BYU, Chico I think.
Looks like Alan is joining the ranks of low talent people who are failing to stay relevant and decide to jump on the I'm going randomly start calling things racist and hope people notice me. I've never really gotten the Pre fetish other than that every other runner I've met or heard speak from that era Shorter, Mills, Virgin, etc. were all incredibly weird or awkward so maybe Pre seemed cool by comparison. But whatever Alan, have fun on your spiral to irrelevance.
Alan Abrahamson has document the case. It's sad that in 2022, blatant White Racism in track and field is robbing deserved athletes of additional publicity, advertisement and sponsorship opportunities, fame and fortune.
Wait, somebody married you? On their own free will?
Alan is just say what we all think when we hear the Eugene Kool Aide drinkers. No biggee. What a luagh!

I think most people think you and your brother are racist because of the amount of racist garbage that you have splattered all over your life's work.
I totally disagree. We are the only website in the world that really makes a point of promoting the African distance stars as big time stars. Most sites are so focused on Americans or Brits or what not and then all of "the Africans" are treated as group. We treat them as individuals.
But go ahead and call me racist. I mean our Galen Rupp shirt has been a best seller - oh wait that doesn't exist, the best seller is our Kipchoge themed shirt.

I actually thought that Kiera D'Amato's AR was woefully under reported and did not receive nearly enough attention within the running community and in the broader sports media. All the other runners Abramson cites are certainly spectacular talents with compelling personal stories. But no one in distance running history has ever done what D'Amato just did. She was a solid Div. I runner, but quit professional running to have a family and get a real job. She started running again to lose baby weight and was running times in 2017 that would barely get her into a local elite coral. A few years later she has ramped up her training and becomes the fastest American at the marathon at the age of 37. That just doesn't happen. Period. The media reported on D'Amato's story like it was just an odd circumstance to have a mom get the AR in the marathon. It is a once in a lifetime event, if not a once in the history of running event to have someone pull off what D'Amato did. There will always be prodigies like Mu and talents like Felix. But I am certain we will never see anything like what D'Amato did.
Bingo.
D'Amato's record made the front page of CNN.

Unfortunately CNN and other Los Angeles and world media just repeats free wire reports and don't cover running other than the Summer Olympics every 4 years.
