It's disappointing to see this, but it's pretty naive to think that people will think like you all the time. I believe Clapton is wrong on this and even though he became really ill after getting the vaccine, with his health issues, if he got COVID, he would likely die, without being vaccinated. I'm still a big fan of his music and guitar skills. Just disappointed in his stance on this.
I agree with you. I have been a fan of Clapton's playing since I was a kid, and I admire his overcoming of addiction very, much, too. Clapton joins a long list of people (including plenty of my friends) who have not taken the approach and attitude toward covid that I would have liked. Yeah, it's annoying. But so what? Our culture war is absolutely out of freakin' control. Most of my friends believe things that I think are insane, whether it's their politics or religious beliefs or their belief in astrology. It is what it is. I'm sure I believe things they think are insane, too. Of course, I think they're wrong, but that's part of what makes being a human among humans interesting. Every opinion and tweet really doesn't have to be this big of a deal.
I kind of like that he released this knowing he would be pilloried. Even though I disagree with him, at least he has something to say. Rage Against the Machine's message never resonated with me at all, but I love their music and I respect that they are passionate about their beliefs.
