Oh, right, Centro didn't even make the final.
When Alan Webb runs 3:46 he's ripped because he doesn't win anything.
When Centro wins multiple world championships he's ripped because he doesn't run fast enough.
Which do you want? And what do you expect? Another El G? The unrealistic expectations on this board are insane. Centro is about as great as it gets for an American miler.
Dude this is Letsrun. There are only two possibilities on these threads and only two. Nothing else absolutely nothing else on here.
1. Run fast and win your doping.
2. Don’t run as fast and lose, your done and go home devistated.
So don’t try and make sense of anything on here. It’s only 1 or 2.
Ah yes, the warpath to 3:53.

I predicted 3:47 lmao. Oh welp
Centro has put in more than a decade of hard, intense, professional-level training for the 1500m. 31 is still fairly young, but with all this training in his legs, I don't see a 1500m PR (or another mile) in the cards anymore. I hope I'm wrong
Hopefully this is the wake up call for Centro to move to 5000m+.
The days of winning 1500m in >3:36 are over.
Thank god.
I predicted a 3:48 and Im known as a centro hater.
I also predicted the race overall would be much faster than it ended up being, despite other ppl saying Pre Classic isnt usually fast.

Letsrun posters are living in the past. The era of the tactical mile is over. Sure, it might come back again. But not when Jakob and Tim are running. If you won't go out at 1:53, forget about it.

I agree. I thought he would run faster and, I think he was in better shape than 3:49 when he ran the time trial, but it doesn’t matter. It was already time for him to move to 5,000. He’s run 13:00, & he has the world class speed. But time is not his friend. He will be almost 35 at the next Olympics. That is old for any distance. I surely wish he would’ve been content with his 2016 gold and tried to move up. Nothing worse than watching an athlete trying to recapture yesterday.
