I doubled checked and Athing Mu wasn't 18 four or five weeks ago. She was 18 only THREE WEEKS ago. Happy now? Her birthday was June 8 to be exact.
Yes, I realize that Namibia does't have the same training advantages as some other countries. That still doesn't change anything about the fact that Mboma's 400 PB went from 51.5 down to 48.5 in just 3 months. No other 48 second female runner in the history of the world has ever went down that quickly. There isn't even another female 400 runner that has even been close to doing that!
Maybe you want to triple check her age. I am TRYING to be nice here.
Athing Mu
Born: June 8, 2002 (age 19 years)
Athing Mu was 18 on Jun 7 and then turned 19 on June 8. That was 3 weeks ago.
Which still doesn't change anything about the fact that Mboma had the fastest 51.5 to 48.5 400m drop of any woman in history by A LOT. Which makes a lot of people think that she was probably intersex. World Athletics agrees, which is why Mboma is now only in the 200, not the 400, on their eligibility lists.
It took Mu THREE YEARS to drop 2.9 seconds in her 400m PB, from 52.4 down to 49.5 . Mboma dropped 3 seconds in THREE MONTHS! That's a very big difference.
