the arguments of most of you make no sense. only when she had a human pacemaker she indirectly used the lights. when she was running alone she was far in front of the lights either way. I dont think the lights played a role here.

Even Hassan can't be in 3:55 1500m shape at the same time as being in 65min HM shape, but she translated that base into a wicked 2019 season once she sharpened up.
For Arafi meanwhile that race was pretty much the high point of the year. To me that's the bigger question - how come Arafi roared into the season with a win, but then didn't really make an impact the rest of the season.
Dibaba is an easy one to answer.
You can Find Arafi in the 1500m final of every World Championship or Olympic Games since 2015 but she never manage to get to the podium. She even beat in 2019 Ugandan female runner that won Doha 800m 2019 title.
As for Hassan "déclic" it was pronounced in the meeting of Rabat a month later (16 June 2019).
Here you can find a greatly improved Hassan that challenged Dibaba:

Correct. They just run their mouths with no logic.

Perfect. So great to see it!
short track
Aside from doping issues (this needs investigations), Guddaf Tsegay is now the big challenger of Hassan. We need to see her form this season.
Hassan looked great. She can go sub-29 right now..
Distance running is pretty much a farce these days. Kinda like cycling back in Lance's heyday. She was a half lap faster than the walking lab experiment Wang Junxia. ROFL.

Naa, you're wrong. The main (only?) advantage of the lights is KNOWING where you are at relative to the time you wanted to run. Some say the benefit is not having to think about pacing, and I agree, but the bigger mental benefit is KNOWING that you're on pace, or a head of pace, and you can rationalize to yourself that you still feel good and can do it, etc.
If she had a set of male pacers so they could make it 10k, and they used wavelights, she'd probably run 28:45.
Wavelight, shoes, pacers is not THIS or THAT. You can reap benefits from all, from one, or any combination. I presume she had on Dragonfly, we know she used wavelights, that's good for 29:06. Put those pacers in there and it'll be another big drop. Half a second per lap would put her near 28:50 already.
I'm also confused by how upset people are getting. With running specifically, the goal is how fast can a human propel themselves over a distance. That they use pacing lights or what not shouldn't matter. When you want pure competition you have that at the WC and Olympics. No wavelights, no pacers.
So we have it all in distance. Last night wasn't a championship race, it was to see how fast a woman could run.
OK so maybe because I am much smarter than you and these other athletes I would never need the wave lights. I can effortlessly do the calculations in my head so why do I need lights? The lights would still offer some benefit but not in the way you are describing. It would be that immediate feedback of pacing BUT this is not worth what some of the dolts think it is, unless maybe if you are a dolt.

It creates a positive feedback loop. Quit trolling and register a name at least.

It could also trigger a negative feedback loop. Let us please recognize that both are possible. Also have you ever heard of splits being read out? Or a clock readout? Both can create a positive feedback.

Agree 100%. The difference is that the light is continuous while lap splits are not. But yes, I agree it can create negative feedback loop as well.
Is there a record she doesn’t have? She could honestly win 800m on up. She’s unreal. Is she the greatest ever?
800m or 1000m I strongly doubt.
She has better endurance than Kypiegon but this one has a better kick.
The 1500m WR is OK to take for her but she must do it this year while she still in her peak.
Sifan Hassan is an example of a lot of unfortunate East African runners that the condition dosent help to evolve.
Almost the same story as Mo Farah.
This is incredibly out of touch with her Doha 2019 performances and DL 2019 double championships…
I’m kinda prone to thinking that the discrepancy in Men’s Vs Women’s world records is partially due to this. In the past men have been drastically more likely to have solid pacers and for longer periods of the race, while the wavelight is going to equalize that discrepancy a bit more… I honestly think that impossible 3k world record could go down in the next 2 years if this is used

Yep. Now with the super shoes it’s only a matter of time before the record books are completely rewritten. It’s no coincidence that the men’s 5 and 10 WRs, along with the NCAA indoor mile, and HS 1500 records (am I missing any? - lol) have all been broken since the release of the super spikes. I think the only record that is safe for the moment is the 3000m. Daniel K. Was probably the most talented middle d runner in the history of mankind. No getting around that, super spikes or not.
Give it a little time and we’ll see sub 28:50. I remember when Junxia ran 29:31 thinking that was ridiculous but, here we are. Nothing to see here folks. Move along and wait for the next ridiculous time.

You know what's even worse than "guys who run their mouths with no logic"? Guys who run their mouths when they haven't even watched the race and therefore are completely 100% wrong with their "facts".
Did you two clowns actually watch the race? You know there are 2 sets of colored lights right - the yellow which are more visible on television but also a set of blue lights which run in front of the yellow.
After the pacemaker drops out, it takes Hasan 100m to get from the back of the blue set (front of the yellow) of lights to to the first one where she then LITERALLY runs next to lead blue light all the way until 9000m. Watch the f-ing race. She's also visibly looking down at it almost all the way.
Both you fools are going to sit here and contend that in the midst of running kilometer splits that vary by less that a second, she just coincidentally happens to run next to the first blue light that goes around the track at the exact speed she is?
I know this is a message board but sometimes people here are so certifiably stupid and say such outrageously stupid things it legit makes my head spin. Below is a link of the race where you can watch for yourselves you absolute feeders.
