I was interested to see how Young would fare — he looked great, kicking smoothly into the final. I wouldn’t pick him to make the team, but seems like he’s been rejuvenated in the month or so since regionals. Good for him.
From the looks of it, Nico doesn't do well in the heat. He looked a lot more comfortable closing several seconds faster in the prelims than he did in the final where it was significantly hotter. In the NCAA prelims, he also struggled in similar conditions. Overall, though, it was a good freshman season for him and he'll have plenty of time to work on his kick and heat tolerance.

9th out of 16 runners in the US trials final and beat Jenkins and Mead. At 18 by far the youngest in the field. This was some great experience for him. The future appears bright.
He would've finished 4th in the 10000.
