I didnt see your question...lots of my posts got removed so I skip over some sections as whats the point when I am being muted...whats your name I have a good memory Ill tell you if you made an impression on me.
Well - you saw my questions now. You made a statement, got questioned about it now three times and have continued to refuse to answer. The longer you dodge, you worse your already terrible reputation gets.

LOL this is such a lie
and even if it is true, you're a disgusting coward for the amount in which you're bending over backwards to defend a predator, please never coach or mentor women

I suspect the coach right now, with his reputation in tatters, is suffering more than most us will ever suffer in our lifetimes

yeah, poor him. the poor baby! oh my god dude, just stop
and please never procreate
Typically "reputation" matters the most to the people who have stuff to hide. The most real people tend not to care what others think of their actions and deeds and just live their life doing stuff they genuinely want to do and enjoy doing.

Wow! So this coach has lost his wife, his family, his home, his country, his job, his club, his livelihood (he can't all of a sudden be a plumber) and most importantly has lost his reputation and now has nothing, yet you will continue to kick him on the ground. How many more kicks will satisfy your blood lust? Does it make you feel good? Does it make you feel tough behind your laptop screen? God help you if can't maintain your perfection and you someday do something bad yourself.
all the things you listed are simply a direct consequence of his actions, not punishment for them.
hopefully that is still to come.

How many kicks will it take for him to apologize for repeatedly raping a teenage girl, then denying the relationship and starting a smear campaign to protect himself while ruining her?
That many.

This.
He hasn't "lost" his reputation. His reputation has been aligned with the truth. He'd better get used to it.
I'm just a dad with a kid and I couldn't be happier seeing this guy get a fraction of what he deserves. Hopefully it keeps some other rapists from doing the same.
And yes, having sex with a minor in a relationship of power is rape, period. They cannot give meaningful consent under the law.
I asked twice now for your name to verifty if I now you or not and you refuse to answer...lets hear it and It will confirm the answer to your question
Tell us your name first...

Exactly right. Different situations, but it's just the same as what people were crying about with people like Bill Cosby, Michael Jackson, and whoever else when their truths came to light. BUT YOU'RE DESTROYING THEIR LEGACY! They're artistic geniuses! Etc. Yes? Well, part of their legacy is that they were abusers. These people could have proactively thought about their legacies (among SO many other things, such as the well-being of their would-be victims, obviously) long before they took the actions they did. But they didn't, and eventually the truth comes out.
Jimmy and rek and whoever else, can we stop with the pedantics about criminal activity and maybe take a look at the situation itself, and can we all admit that it was clearly wrong in so many ways, on a simple human level? Once again, what is the point of defending his actions? What are you accomplishing? As others have said -- we can only pray that YOU are not a coach. I also surely hope that you have never been groomed by an important figurehead in your life at a vulnerable time, indeed a person of authority, and had to struggle with the resultant emotional wreckage for years and years. I'm guessing you haven't, or you wouldn't be taking the stances that you are.

I wonder if the opposite may be the better explanation? I hope not, but I do wonder.
I think it's human nature for people to not believe they're guilty of things. It's a defense mechanism of some sort. Heck DST probably, in his mind, somehow believes he's not guilty or rationalizes his actions. Ever heard people rant and blame everyone but themselves? What I'm leading into is that a lot of people to some capacity probably knew/heard/"heard the rumours". I think a lot of people are using that term, "rumours" as a justification for them being dismissive and absolving any guilt they may otherwise feel. Again, human nature to believe one is not guilty. I think that most people who mention rumours were aware that it entailed MB and Dave having sex. They were not entirely sure of all the details beyond sex so they didnt feel obliged to come forward, not their problem. It's a real gray area. The passing of time indicated to some that he had got away with it. That's no longer the case. Ultimately, Dave is rightfully the guilty party. I do think blaming others is unfair to an extent. A lot of people will be hurt by this regardless. Dave has several kids from what other posts have indicated. Think of the rest of his family. Think of Megan Brown and her family. Think of anyone else who was hurt directly or indirectly. There are a lot of genuinely good people in the track and field community. Dont let this story overshadow the many good and amazing individuals and groups within the track and field community.

I hope no one is confusing "ReckieRunner" with me.
I pretty much agree with the above. We don't have to wait for a coach to be charged with a crime, or wait for him to tell "his side" of the story. We already know after a brief investigation in 2019, Scott-Thomas was fired by the University -- they did not feel any need to "wait and see" what the investigation turns up.
It's hard to ignore the Globe report that "... was the product of a months-long investigation by freelance reporter Michael Doyle, assisted by Alex Cyr and Stephanie Chambers. The Globe says they talked to "more than 70 athletes and coaches, spanning Mr. Scott-Thomas's career, and reviewed correspondence and university documents that shed further light on the situation." and "shows the toll that relationship took on Brown's mental health, and how it lead to the derailment of her career."

I thought Canada might be more enlightened, this is a good reminder that it's probably more backwoods/backwards than much of the USA.

A journalist has published an article giving one side of the story and instantly rabid lynch mobs have formed ready to crucify the former coach on the spot have buried him under an avalanche of horrific adjectives. I think we need to catch our breath and stand back and gain a little perspective here and little bit of reality. Let’s look at the facts:
1) A journalist has published an article. That does not make anything in it automatically factual as many of you are screaming “now the truth is out”. The only “fact” to come out of the article is we now know what he was accused of doing 13 years ago.
2) Even if all the accusations levied about the coach are 100% true, he did not commit a crime. I.e. it was not a crime in Canada in 2006 to have consensual sex with a 17 year old. He has not been accused of “rape”, nor “sexual assault” despite people tossing those terms around, he was accused of consensual sex with an adult woman (i.e. per Canadian Law in 2006 as a 17 year old was classified). This is why the police have stated they are not getting involved in this situation.
3) If what he is accused of doing is in fact true, while not criminal in nature, he should have been fired immediately in 2006 and strongly criticized for the pathetic and reckless behavior and the damage it did to her, his family and himself.
4) In 2006 and still today, there is no hard evidence that he had sex with her. There were no witnesses, he has not admitted to anything, there was no pregnancy. In fact, even after pouring through hundreds of e-mails and talking to 70 people, the journalist couldn’t find a single e-mail in which the coach or the girl talked about a sexual experience that took place, and none of the 70 people ever caught their supposed frequent sex acts occurring, including supposedly in his office. There are no witnesses to her leaving the institution and having sex with him in his car. All we have is the age old “he said, she said”? I personally believe he did it and deserves condemnation, but my opinion means nothing, nor does your opinion mean anything, nor does the 70 people interviewed who “think” sex might have happened, but never once witnessed sex happening.
5) The same lynch mob party on here wanting to tear the coach to shreds, are the same people who just last week were on these very same message boards gushing praise for Kobe Bryant and how wonderful he was and what a great person he was, despite the fact he was accused of sexual assault, battery and rape of a woman in another case with no witnesses and no hard evidence in another classic “he said, she said” situation. Only Kobe and the woman know the truth, no matter how many article journalists wrote about the situation.
6) We have not even heard the “he said” side of the story other than a one sentence denial statement, and as on guy pointed out we never will because this is not a criminal case and the coach will likely quietly disappear from the public eye indefinitely.
7) Over the years, I have read about 100s of coaches, teachers, etc. here in the USA having sex with athletes, students etc. who are actually under rage, and there is actual hard evidence presented in criminal proceedings, including the latest warped craze of female teachers having sex with under age boys. Each weekend 30-70 people are shot, with 5-15 fatalities in Chicago every and no one bats an eyelash, yet we have a lynch mob here on LetsRun calling for stringing up this coach who is not even accused of a crime. While I am typing this message how many actual rapes, robberies, assaults, beatings have taken place in the big cities of Canada and the USA? In now way, am I using bad behavior to justify bad behavior, but all of these people are much worse than than what this coach is accused of and I am trying to levy some perspective.
8) Finally, how many of you holy than thou, self righteous people have never for example, driven drunk or high on pot above the legal limit which could have led to the death of an innocent person or lied or cheated on their spouse of lover, or bullied someone or stole, etc. I think it was JC who said “he who is without sin cast the first stone” and I think it was the old people who put down their stones and walked away first, just as the case here where the most vociferous of the lynch mob are probably the youngest too. Again, my opinion doesn’t matter, and I believe he had sex with that 17 year old woman, and should have been fired and condemned, albeit with some appropriate perspective, but a journalist publishing an article is not automatically the truth or factual as everyone here is proclaiming.
Wow, the little boys and girls, teenagers and adults who refuse to grow up, just got spanked.
