Anyways, I was not referring to the Illinois program specifically but more in general. And yes I can judge them for their ethics by watching what they do - that is how you know a person's ethic.
And you proved the point - you said they are good because they scored 115 points in the conference meet - that is the ends or the outcome. You also said they did it because of recruiting. That is the means. So you are saying being a good recruiter as a means is justified by the outcome.
But still doesn't make them good coaches. And if you think that way - which you seem to, then you too are Machiavellian.
If that is your ethic, that is fine with me. If you are ethical then I can predict how you will react in each situation.
And, I'll know to be very careful if I have to deal with you.
