GO still ran a good team time that would usually qualify for NXN from CA, but maybe not this year. Door is open for Ventura to sneak ahead of GO and grab the 3rd place in CA behind SC and Dana
Surprisingly slow for D1. Parra led the whole way. I have a feeling he backed off a bit for next week.
I don't think Parra ever backs off. He's got one mode - all out from the gun.
He runs comparatively better on flatter courses, so 14:56 here is a good time for him. Only 4 guys broke 15 at last year's state meet.
He didn’t go all out just like he didn’t at finals. At finals he had a bloody blister on his arch after the first mile and backed off just to win. He’s doing what he needs to do to be ready for when it matters.
It seems like every big state level race Buchanan has 1 runner drop out. It's happened 3/4 (Clovis 22, Clovis 23, State 23) of the last races there. And its even more surprising since this is basically their home course.
