I guess 'Struggle' is the best way to describe how running has been going lately. I'll have the occasional day where I'll have some semblance of being a runner. But for the most part I feel cripple and old.
In my defense I have had a low grade cold lingering for a few weeks...and spending the past week tiling a second story bathroom has seemed to beat my body up a bit. Many trips up and down stairs and hours of work on my knees doesn't help. My back pain is mostly gone but always shows up after sitting for a while.
Heres my sad past two weeks (26 and 45 miles) from my log.
M: Off, kind of sick, sore heel, back. Dragging
T: 2 miles. Just a very easy run. Same as above.
W: Off
T: am: 4 miles @ 7:45
F: 6.4 miles @ 7:43 Good run. Hopefully back to normal. 19deg, nice sunrise!
S: 10 miles @ 7:49 Cold 32. First 5 into a good breeze. Wasn't really feeling it…just kept it mostly steady.
S: 4 miles @ 7:43 Not a bad run. Lacking sleep; had Daphne last night.
M: 7 miles @ 7:48 Easy run, felt clunky, still.
T: 8 miles @ 7:14 3 mi @ 24:13, 6 x 800 @ CV pace (jog 1/4 between reps) 3:01.1,3:00.1,2:59.2,2:59.9,2:58.0,2:57.0
W: 6.3 @ 8:33 Cold breeze this morning! 16 deg wc. Ran very easily
T: 8.9 @ 7:43 Didn't feel the greatest…weighed only 161.8 so thats probably why. I need to eat more during the day!
F: Off. Exhausted
S: 10.0 @ 8:00 Decent run. Ran easy because I wasn't sure how far I would make it. Cold headwind first half
S: 4.5 @ 8:02 Heel hurt, felt like I could barely move. Walked the last half mile.
We're heading to SC Thursday night so it will nice to get away from the cold for a while. I'll try to run everyday down there but I'll just go how I feel without a plan. I just want to start consistently feeling good
And...not sure about protocol here but outing someone without their permission on an anonymous message board probably isn't cool. Even though most of us know who each other are we don't post each others complete name. Stick to the screen name, or am I wrong?
Have a good week,
Dave
