No farragut, but Calvert Hall, Belen Jesuit, Brentwood and plenty of other great teams.
At large bids right now should be 2 to Southwest, and then 2 spread between Northwest, South, and California.
Neil likely wins and sets a new CR. I think he also wins and sets a new CR at NXR next month. He's on another level this year.

oh neils in the race? nevermind yep mercer island kid is going to get wrecked. CR for this course likely, for firman, less likely
For the heck of it, I was comparing course and their Strava distances. Summary is as follows:
-Non established course are all over the place. They rarely get the distance right. Most are either long or too short. Saw some course that were listed as 5k but Strava says less than 3 miles.
- Woodbridge averaged 3.015 Huntsville average 3.14 These course were around the right ballpark of 3M and 5k course. Makes sense because this is where people go to run a 3M or 5k record. They are also the 2 flattest courses I seen on Strava (both being equally flat)
- Despite what people say Mook is shorter and La Verne Gibson is longer.
- It was pretty clear to me that coaches measure course differently depending on what area you are running
- the fastest 5k in the nation was run on a course in Colorado. that course is very very short of a true 5k lol.

Do you understand what a 5km distance is? It’s 3.107 miles. So looking at Strava data those courses are not “short” of a 5km other than Woodbridge and they advertised 3 miles.
Belen Jesuit dominates the Great American XC Festival with a team score of 65. McCallie and Calvert Hall were both pretty bad today and finished in 9th and 10th respectively. Belen Jesuit seems to be head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the SE. Strong team runs from Ridgefield and Marvin Ridge.
Noah Valyo takes home the individual win in 14:42.

Belen was led by the 9th grader who ran a 14:48 and placed third.
Ridgefield is from CT (Northeast).
Marvin Ridge is from NC (Southeast). Only one senior as well.
I wonder how Farragut would have done if they raced and all of their 1-4 were on. And University WV
Lol wow, the Ruiz guys went 2-3-4 on the Belen team
Anthony Fast Horse 14:32 woodward park in 77 degree heat. I would say he is faster than Leo and Lex.
Considering the heat 77 degrees it is possible that this is the best performance ever on California soil. German Fernandez ran 14:24 was in perfect weather conditions. For people who don't know this course is about a 6/10 in difficulty. woodbridge is a 1/10.
You would say he's faster than Lex and Leo after he has only ever ran slower than Lex and Leo?
Dana Hills boys team won at Clovis. Great Oak second but not far behind. No other team came close.
Ventura boys team didn’t finish as high as most of us thought they would. But again, they don’t have as much depth as these other 2 teams. They lacked a number 5 today. They got a lot of work to do to make it to NXN. But their girls team upset Buchanan and took second behind JSerra who dominated

it may have been 81 degrees, I don't know cause I am not there. Some places say 80 some places say 77

I’ll be happy if I’m wrong, but doesn’t look like CA boys have an NXN podium team this year. Handful of very good, potential top 10 squads. Still think they’ll end up with 3 teams.
Would think this result means Dana has more or less punched their ticket even if they fall to 3rd in state merge.
Is there any chance Buchanan girls don’t make it to NXN this year????? they were barely 3rd place today by a tie breaker. Santiago tied with them and are also D1 for the state meet. They may not even make it to NXN. What a difference a year makes. All the returners on that team are running 20 seconds to a FULL minute SLOWER! Insane!

Another reason why Buchanan isn’t doing as well as last year is that they graduated 2 important scorers. One of them was their #1. Losing a #1 runner can hurt a team a lot.
And Ventura graduated literally nobody and added a transfer from Newbury Park.
Santiago Corona lost only one scorer their #2 is a transfer from Rancho Cucamonga.
