No, bottom line is Wilson *was* a great quarterback but is now an overpaid mediocre quarterback with a 45.3 QBR that ranks 21st in the league.
How many mediocre QB's have a 100 passer rating? How many mediocre QB's are 16-4 TD/INT after 8 weeks? The guy is having a good season and only a rookie wouldnt see that.
Keyword there is “good.” The standard you set for Wilson by creating this thread is great, not good. Even you admit that Wilson is no longer great.
How many mediocre quarterbacks have a 3-5 record this year that could have been 5-3 if they had played better down the stretch of winnable games? I know one: Russell Wilson.
Not claiming anything simply going witn the facts, Wilson is completing better than 65% of his passes has a great 16-4 td/int and a studly 100 passer rating.
Wilson OBVIOUSLY a far better QB than Geno Smith so Seattle did somethng stupid..
Top TD passers in 2023
Once again you offer an overly simplistic take. First of all, Wilson is not far better than Smith. Here’s how they compare this season:
Completion %: Smith 67.6, Wilson 66.1 Pass Yards/Game: Smith 235.0, Wilson 201.6 QBR: Smith 60.0, Wilson 45.3
Second, it’s not merely about comparing Wilson vs Smith. It’s looking at their differences in salaries, which impacts the kind of players the teams can get to build around them. And it’s looking at how much the Broncos gave up to acquire Wilson.
Put it this way: would you rather have Smith for 4 years on contracts that are worth up to combined $112 million PLUS three players PLUS four draft picks PLUS a pick swap, or just Wilson on a 5-year deal worth $245 million?
Clearly Seattle made the right decision, evidenced by the fact that they made the playoffs last year and are currently in first place in their division.
Russ beats the Bills on MNF. Now up to #4 in in passer rating in 2023 behind Purdy, Tua, and Dak. #3 in TDs (18) but only 4 picks -- no on else in the top ten of TD passes has so few picks.

CJ Stroud in top 10 with only 2 INTs.
Missed that. Looks like I made another rookie mistake, sheesh.

Not sure how Dak has a slightly higher passer rating than Stroud. Dak does have 2 more passing TDs but 4 more INTs. Stroud leads league with most yards per game. Does passing % carry that much weight.

I’ll give credit where it’s due. Wilson played very well last night. But let’s also give credit to the Broncos’ defense, which once again had a strong performance. They not only held Allen and the Bills to 22 points, they forced two turnovers that resulted in two field goals for the Broncos even though Wilson failed to get a first down on the ensuing possessions.
Let’s also consider how lucky Wilson got on that final drive. After doing a good job getting the Broncos into position to kick a game-winning field goal, Wilson took a bad sack (his fourth of the game) that took the Broncos out of field goal range. This was on a play in which the Bills were obviously going to blitz, as the announcers called prior to the snap, noting that you just can’t take a sack in that situation.
After the sack, the Broncos had third down and 10. Wilson attempted a deep pass to Jeudy, who had done a terrific job gaining separation on his way to the end zone. If Wilson had hit Jeudy in stride, he scores a touchdown. Instead, Wilson badly under-threw the ball, causing Jeudy to pump the brakes and leading the defender to bump into him, yielding a lucky pass interference penalty.
If that wasn’t lucky enough, the Broncos’ rushed field goal attempt was wide right, but they got another chance due to the Bills having 12 men on the field. I guess it’s better to be lucky than great.

Bottom line in all this is he's on a whole other level than he was last season. His numbers are similiar to his Seattle days not last season. All his numbers among the best in the NFL.
Last season he had 16 td passes already at 18 this season, yep,big difference.

Not all his numbers. He’s only 23rd in the league in total passing yards, 25th in passing yards per game, and 19th in QBR. His passing yards per attempt this year is a career low. His arm strength is not what it used to be.
I don't see that at all, I see a coach knowing he has a weak receiving gang so he tries to keep it easy for Wilson.
The three numbers that mean the most comp%, td/int, passer rating we see Wilson among the best in football.
I just wish you knew more about football Deno. Yards per pass attempt is a hugely important stat for a QB and Russell Wilson is 21st at 6.9. This shows how he is not efficient as a QB. Geno Smith is 14th at 7.2. You really sound like a desperate rookie with your crush on Wilson.
Actually that comp% is the most important as is that TD/INT ratio, as is that passer rating,. All Russell Wilson over Smith despite Smith having far better receivers. Who compares Geno Smith to Russell Wilson anyway, what a rookie.

What's really cool about all this is we have another 4/5 seasons of Wilson putting up great numbers just like he was doing for a decade. Loving it~~~~~~~~~~
All you....Wilson is done.....hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!
Take a few more seasons to pass Dan Marino's 420td passes, will pass Tarkenton next season.

No we do not have 4 or 5 more seasons of Wilson. Wilson will be done after 2 more mediocre to poor seasons. RW will be 35 in a couple weeks and his arm strength and running ability are diminishing before our very eyes. RW will not want to be a backup either, and in a year or two, that is what he will be.
