Nice move by Lagat, didn't expect that to work honestly
Lagat smacks Rupp once again. Happy to see Ryan Hill make the team after a 5th place last year.
would have been nice to get a last lap split. but you know that technology has only been around for like the last 20 years.

3:54 last 1600 for Lagat.
Not so fast. Hill is nowhere near the "B" standard and he has not been as fit as he has been in the past. True may get to go.

Lagat went 3:55.05 for the final 1600

It's Montano, Montano, Montano, Martinez, Mantano, Montano, Martinez. Montano wins! Martinez second. (Third: lost in translation.)
Also, someone in fourth: Kate Grace. Declared in both the 8 and 15. Would have had a good shot in the 15.
lagat lol
personally I thought that was a awesome race. Racing can be slow and tactical..... the last mile was anything but slow however.
Why don't they just have 400m or 800m races for all of these distances. Just call it a 5000m, but just let them run 800m.
Idiots for having this so called championship event in Iowa in the summer, really smart. These races are meaningless. Ridiculous....back to the Diamond League for some real running.
some booing from the stands would have been great, but there are hardly any people in the stands . . .
If Ben True had not done that do you think he could have outsprinted Ryan Hill or do you think doing what he did was his best chance?

That's why the 400/800 are my favorite races.

Nope. 3:55.05
10:59.11 --> 14:54.16
Lagat is one of those guys I would never ever trust.....sly like a thief.....Makes me sick...actually I get ill just thinking about his character!
i bet his ole sparring partner el g is sorry he retired huh
when he see what lagat is doing now
Merritt only gets 3rd, Oliver 2nd
Ryan Wilson wins it! who is he?
13.08 wilson, 13.11 oliver, 13.23 merritt
richardson has a bye i think
More history in a distance race. That was the slowest winning time since 1955 (and slowest in a 5000m since 1952):

It was even slower than Bob Day's win in the 1968 OT held at 8,000 feet of altitude above Lake Tahoe of 14:37.4.
