Haha! 🤣It was close. I never lie here so this is what happened......
Warm up at 5 min / km was no problem but then I put the pace at 3:45 min/ km for the TT 1000m and I just ran for 2 min at that pace when it felt really insecure and I was really scared of falling off....
Felt I couldn't run my normal fine controlled stride with the front of the treadmill too close and afraid of stumble in it and the back of the treadmill too close to my stride pendel....
So, the result will be I will not do any treadmill running more. Will use the track instead to the faster workouts when we here in Sweden soon goes in to springtime and warmer climate. Will now mix hill reps, track intervals and slow easy longer sustained runs. Will now also switch to run 5-6 sessions per week .We will see what happens but I'm now determind to run at least a sub 20 5000m in August. It will happen. 🇸🇪🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪

What a joke. Very predictable you would not pass a 4min TT. The excuse and lie a little less predictable.
I am his coach and you have to live with it even if you don't like it.
Look Jan, we all know why you're so desperate to falsely claim this runner as your coached athlete. You're trying to build your brand and feed your ego as a supposedly-elite coach. (a peer of Canova, you've even had the gall to claim)
You struck gold when you met Sammy in Sweden, and he agreed to openly associate with you. An actual high-level African runner working with some nobody on the internet, Jan Stensson. And maybe not a nobody for long, right? Just ride Sammy's results to feed your ego. Never mind that Sammy didn't really use your system (he ran typical African high mileage).
But then Sammy started to go downhill -- maybe he listened to you a little too much -- and you needed a new meal ticket. So you have this other contact you met (stalked) on social media. He's a young guy, and didn't know to steer clear of a snake like you. Now you spin these casual contacts into a made-up coaching relationship (a new Sammy), and here we are.
Jan, you are way too easy to read. Now go rest up for that big TT tomorrow.
All you told here in this your post is false.
1) Sammy contacted me already in the year 2015 to ask me to coach him. You are free to contact him yourself and he will tell you this is the truth. And he didn't go downhill as you falsely claim. 2017 he won one of the biggest pricemoney races in Kenya then in Mully's half and a 5000 $ winning check. Then he mostly got pacemaking missions by his then manager Run Fast. In Barcelona half he ran in front possision a pacemaking 63 min half....
His shape now is very good again and soon he will have some races abroad again....
2) Even Josphat contacted me that year 2015 to ask for coaching. He came back to Kenya from USA high school running and around 4 min at 1500m and 14:45 at 5000m under the alias name of Steve Lagat ( that you didn't know, lol ). When I started to coach him his race results just rocketed! He fast became one of the 3 best Kenya junior XC runners and with me went on to win the famous ( in Kenya) the Discovery XC .So far his best half stands at 61 min and his shape now is very good and he will very soon run a USA road race again.🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪🏆

Why do you say it was a lie? I told exactly how it went.
I had typed out and was going to post a 'funny' list of excuses why this wouldn't happen tonight. You can guess - injury flare up, felt off, started too fast and bailed, etc. The first one in the list was the treadmill played up or he didn't feel right on the treadmill. I didn't post it as it felt cynical and would look lame if the 4min K came in. Looks like I should have done.
Obviously it's not possible to get used to the treadmill with practice. And it goes without saying that it's out of the question to time trial a single 1K run outdoors. Obviously. No-one would ever do that. So that's that then.

Coach J.S., does Gothenburg, the nearest big city attainable by train from your smaller town, not have an indoor 200 track where you could safely verify your pace? We can understand your concerns about the dangers of running at a relatively high speed, that is six minute mile pace on a treadmill, in a gym, but an indoor 200 meter track would be perfect for verifying your form and improving your fitness.

Yes, Gothenburg has an indoor 200 m track but now when weather gets better no problem to run at the tracks in Trollhättan or Uddevalla more close to my Vänersborg.

This is one of the most ridiculous and pathetic stories I've read in a very long time. You were all set to run faster than 4:00, even as fat as you are, but your "fine controlled stride" just didn't match up with the treadmill. Absolutely ludicrous, but that's what you get with Jan Stensson.
Jan, rather than lying and sputtering about Josphat and other elites who you don't coach (and frankly are unqualified to coach), I have a better idea for you. There is one athlete who you can claim as your own, and who is the perfect representative for the results of Jan Stensson coaching. That athlete is Fake Emma.
As usual , always an excuse by Jan and never any results ! Is this how you coach ? Plan a workout and then change the plan by trying to go faster and instead of admitting the pace was too difficult you make up excuses? 7 months until world masters and you can not even run a4 min km ! Remind us all why you think your a great master runner ….

This just shows how you are not qualified to coach anyone. You were going for a 4:00 attempt and set the pace at 3:45 That was stupid.
Of course then you felt insecure as your legs were getting heavy and heartrate skyrocketed after less than two minutes. Pathetic.
As for never lying here, do you need to be reminded of that time a few weeks ago when posting as FZappa you said you were not Jan Stensson? And then you forgot to log in and described your day and Sammy's training, still posting as FZappa? You have always lied here.

It wasn't stupid to set the pace to 3:45/ km . The treadmill machine was difficult to control the pace buttons and still hold the balance and no direct button for 4 min/ km......and my legs didn't get heavy and heartrate didn't skyrocketed.... just I was afraid of accident. 🇸🇪🧙🏼♂️🇸🇪

Jan, it was stupid to set the pace for 3:45. Would you tell a 4:00 1500m runner to go out at 3:45 pace? That would be suicide. Even more so over 1km.
You didn't need a "direct button" for 4:00/km. You just set the speed for 15 km/h. And lastly, you knew for months that you would do a test on a treadmill and it never crossed your mind to do a test run first to get used to it?
If you are so unprepared when doing something for yourself, no wonder your athletes are also unprepared. Like Phil was unprepared to deal with the CIM hills, or like you sent an athlete to the Kenyan Mountain Running Championships without having him do specific hill sessions.
And you just quit? This run didn't go well so you just say "So, the result will be I will not do any treadmill running more." Instead of practicing and learning how to run on a treadmill?

I think Jan was caught off guard a little bit, and had to scramble for an excuse. It's possible he's lying about the entire incident, but on the other hand, being overconfident about the pace does sound like something Jan would do. (and then lie about why he failed)
Jan is fat and lazy, but we knew that already. If even most of this treadmill story is true, then he's pretty stupid as well.
