Hey, Ventolin.
you are either so blissfully ignorant or you have just suspended all effort at logic and are willfully ignorant. These are athletes, 19,75 at 31 after a very poor previous year... good luck in your world

Did the men go out even slower than the women?
Yes. 4:01 at 1200. That'd be 5:21 1600m pace by the way.
Worst race of the championships so far....and it's only 2/5 done.
4:02 about at 1200m. That's slower than 5:20 mile
Yes--81 degrees is vicious. But I dearly (read: deerly) hope that but Heaths take the lead: Tom Hammond's head would explode.

Still cranking out those sub 90s.
16:40 pace through a mile, so yes. probably won't break 15:30 at this point
many thanks
leer should have run.
hell, i should have run.
No wonder distance running is dying. This is PATHETIC.
Who wants to watch nine guys run at a US championship at a pace that, to be fair, is ridiculously slow.

hahaha. Imagine hearing that on the TV broadcast. That would be both hilarious and incredibly sad. It would probably also ensure that no 5000 would be shown on TV in the USA for the next 5-6 years.
Over/under on them not beating my PR (15:40.02)?
F*ck the haters I love slow races. #keepitslow
The announcers said Lagat isn't leaving it to the final 400, so it will be interesting to see when he pushes.
Can someone give updates as the overseas stream is down.
Rupp and Lagat could have worn flats and made the team.

I can't believe Leer didn't want to race. The 5000s today are catering to the 1500 types and the absurdly sluggish early pace has got to negate the heat's effects that he voiced concern over. I'm disappointed-- would have loved to see him nab a top 3 finish this year.
interesting....I don't have a clue on why...do you?
Well, we won't see the 3k split, but they were 8:50 at 2900m.
Jesus.
Shalane ran faster through 3k of a 10k that these MEN are running through 3k of a 5k. What. The. Hell?!?!?!?!
