How many PSAC Alums are still running? The Bay Area is a nice place to train...isn't that right, Jorge?

I bet there is a good group of PSAC alum that are still training somwwhat serious. Sauls, the bay area is a great place to train. There are some nice places to live out there with a bunch of trails. Not San Jose, but towards the San Francisco area.
iup is going to be at the penn state spiked shoe invitational on saturday. penn st. has a great course, but i do kinda miss running the paul short.
both PSU and Paul Short will have great competition.
The problem with Paul Short is it has expanded so much you need to be a ranked non-d1 team to race the d-1 teams there.
That isn't a new thing that they are doing shizzy
Nor is it a problem, imho. If you're not ranked in D2, you have no business running against good D1 schools.
Hoovis
well, to be honest not all of those d-1 teams are that impressive. their maybe 8 at the top that are very solid but beyond that no one has anyone the top 5 conference teams couldn't run with.
don't read that as beat, but run with.
That is the case shizzy then why aren't their PSAC teams in the top 10 places at Paul Short?
It is simple as it gets, look up the race results of Paul Short since they 2000, and look up the highest place a PSAC school is in any one of those races. That is the biggest reason why they only allow Ranked schools, because even the ranked schools don't even perform that well. Its not a bash on the PSAC its just the truth
i am sorry, i knew you guys would take that comment and roll with it.
i said that our teams can RUN WITH. Not Beat. And honestly most of the times the conference teams are in the top half of the field which isn't too bad.
coming from schools with 6-10k at most in terms of enrollment, that is pretty solid vs. the opponents at PAuL ShOrT.
Yes, finishing 18th at best is very respectable, the only reason you made a comment in the first place shizzy is because you guys aren't ranked. If you would be ranked, you would be all for the ranked only sanction because that would your team apart from everyone else. But since you have to run in the "B" heat your're fighting for equity. Its not always bad being unranked by the way, but its nothing to get mad at meet directors about because they try to keep a meet competitive.
before everyone start picking on shizzy, i should add that Edinboro has always had a descent number of good looking girls on their team. I was always impressed with the way Watts recruited talented and good looking women. OK, now we can get back to running.
I think your missing a few words buddy in your statement
We don't need to go back to running. Watts always knows what's up with his ladies. They rarely get a fast girl that isn't at least half-way decent. Too many fifty yard fake-outs in the PSAC. I wish Edinboro raced in PA more often. Dang girl!
Hey Hoovis, what is your email? I have a few ideas that I would like to run by you. You will know how this is when I email you.
Ship is doing pretty well for themselves as well. The xc team has a few girls that can run the part and look the part. The team also has quite a few ladies that are high in the rankings.
I really like the idea of the PSAC Alumni training group. Any takers? It would be fun and it would be another option to have instead of getting a job and running less. The reason I say this is because I will be moving back to IUP in a few weeks to actually just try and give running a shot with out a full time job and with out school. I was working 40 hours a week and running about 80-90 miles so it beats you up. So I am going to IUP, getting a part time job from 9-2 on M-F, help out with the team as an assistant coach, and train my ass off for a few years and see where it takes me. If any Alumni are somewhat interested in doing something like this let me know and we can figure something out.

Jorge,
I am trying to get in touch with a few Alumni and friends right now to get something like this going. We/I would buy a house, probably in Lock Haven, as I know they have a lot of trails. I have looked into a few 5 bedroom homes in the area and they all look decent. Starting out, I wouldn't care who lived at the house as long as they were training and not just crashing there for a place to stay. It is also very important to me that the house was respected and not treated like the old XC house at IUP and I am not talking about 411...that was/is not a real XC house; I don't care what you or Bill Moss says!
Here would be some of the perks:
A training group. A cheap place to stay, rent would be next to nothing for the athletes. I don't care if you have a job or not...as long as the bills and rent gets paid. Up to 30% off on shoes and possible clothes. All other expenses would be on the runners, but this could change a bit. I am also trying to work it out to get you all a legitmate coach. This coaching however would be over the internet, so if that's a problem for some of you, this could be changed.
Finding the right house could take a little time, so if some of you are interested in this idea please be patient. I need to figure somethings out before we jump into this head first. This is a real possibility for some of you to run extremely fast and maybe get a deal somewhere else.
Things are happening...please be patient
Sounds good to me...keep me posted on all of this. And of course we would respect the house, 411 was just a bumping place and was always so busy. Im just serious about seeing how fast we can all run. Take care man.
I have Hoovis' email so email me and I will send it to you.

This sounds like a pretty cool deal! How many PSAC Alums will show up and actually Train to see how fast they can be though?
