What I've learned from reading 40 pages of comments:
There are loads of uninformed comments here but here are a few current facts.
Tuohy is not faster than Valby and it's not close.
Tuohy is in a rut (or regressing) and Valby is still improving.
Valby is not built like a pro runner (compare her alongside Elle St. Pierre and Elise Cranny)
Valby's style makes others run faster or get broken. Training for a strategic lay back and kick approach for the vast majority will get you nothing but also ran status.
Valby's style is a lot like Prefontaine and great fun to watch even if it doesn't work out (although she did run a PB)
Tuohy has been injured, but has more talent at 1500/5000m than Valby.
Touhy will be back.
Of course, Valby is built like a runner.
Duh!
She’s nothing like Pre. He ran a 3:54 mile, and when he lost against the world’s best, it would only be by a few seconds. He never, ever, ran a last lap like Valby did in the trials 5000m final.
