forget it - I'm under no impression you would ever admit you were wrong in any way, shape or fashion.
If I'm proven wrong I admit it. You haven't provided any argument or evidence... You stated: "Adult is unaware of the dissolution of the British empire"
While having no idea why the British Empire dissolved... lol.
your claim seems to be that weaker nations have never imposed their will on stronger nations. Not even once!
I pointed out Cuba, Vietnam, the breakup of the USSR, the dissolution of the British Empire. Others pointed out that the US did not expand its territory by an inch after the USSR done blown up. Clearly Iran had a revolution against the will of the US and kept their nation for decades. it looks more and more like UKR will defeat a much stronger Russia and preserve its integrity. You replied with questions. Never really stating a point. Not sure what your debate strategy is here but it seems quite thin.
Reports indicate that the Russians have routed the Nazis of the Azov battalion and liberated Mariupol.
Show us just one of these reports. Because all I'm seeing about Mariupol is that the Russians bombed a theater that was being used as a shelter and killed 300 civilians.
I'm not sure we're giving enough emphasis to the fact that the RU army has said that they are retreating to Donbas. Could be a lie to mislead everyone....but this is major news.
Russia's initial goals were a virtual annexation of eastern Ukraine with a land route to Crimea and to install a puppet regime in Kiev. It appears they may be giving up on the latter as it becomes less likely that they can achieve that goal.
It remains to be seen whether Ukraine would agree to loss of land in any negotiations. I expect the west would like to see a negotiated settlement, but Ukraine giving up important port cities (Mariupol) would be tough on their future economic prospects. It's hard to see them doing so.
They're going to fortify the separatist regions and declare victory. Not really slithering back home.
Sorry Putin Lovers, Russia lost.
Russia has completely failed at their main objective of taking Kiev. They've now realized they can't even complete the encirclement of the city and lay siege to it, so they are spinning their failure as a victory of "weakening the Ukraine Army" and going to a plan B or plan C, which is to refocus on Donbas.

"If there were no "ALWAYS" you'd be able to name a time a larger power bent to the will of a weaker neighbor against its own self interest."
Cuba tried to do what it wanted the US almost started a nuclear war to stop them. The US got its way.
Vietnam was the stronger North forcing it's will on the weaker South.
The USSR didn't break up by choice it collapsed economically.
The British Empire did not break up by choice.
My questions pointed out that your "points" weren't points at all.
Ukraine couldn't take Donbas in the last 7 years but now that the Russian military is there suddenly it will be done in 5 days?
lol...
as you know, the fighting over donbas was sporadic and very rarely very serious - not making a real effort for total victory.
the game has changed and it's actual war now. Different rules. Different game.
Over 10,000 killed. More than the US lost in combat in the last 45 years... Many of them civilians. But you weren't told to pretend to care so you don't even know it happened.... lol.

going to have to disagree that the US has had its way with cuba
going to have to disagree that North Vietnam was stronger than the USA

Russia was never in a negotiation.
From Ukraine Russia wants land ceded (all the way to NATO's doorstep), the power plants, and a puppet government loyal to Putin. In return they will stop the war and move loyal Russians into new territories.
Ukraine should counter with, Russia giving Crimea back, paying for all war damage, and removal of Putin from power. This would be comparable counteroffer.
