Madeline Manning Olympic Champion along with Doris Brown Heritage and Kim Gallagher all deserve votes.

With no races going on, it's time for another LetsRun tournament. In December, we had a 64 race battle to determine the greatest race of the 2010s. Now we're going to do the same thing to determine the greatest American distance runner of all of time (800 on up).
Gerry Lindgren
~World Record Holder in 6-mile/10,000m
~Closest any American has ever been to the World Record in the 3-mile/5000m (less than a second)
Pete Rose would choose Alberto Salazar. I think they played guitars in the same pickup banned.
Big Hawk Chief.
Sub 4 mile (80 years before Bannister)
and sub 24 100 mile.
Deerfoot Bennett. Held the world record in the 10 mile for nearly 40 years.
Ummmm. Neil Degrasse Tyson?
Female: Shalane Flanagan
Male: Galen Rupp
I’m surprised there is not more love for Bill Rodgers
Steve Prefontaine and Joan Benoit Samuelson
Few other runners have the same name recognition, their impacts on sports and society, and the fact that they had national and international results

This is the only correct answer for the men's contest. And you seriously cannot put Jim Walmsley, Lightbody, DeMar, ahead of guys like Solinsky, Teg, Ritz, Maree, Kennedy, and Falcon.
800m is a distance run? That’s more of a sprint! Carl Lewis?
