I work in a senior care facility
Every once in awhile we like to convince one of the old-timers that there are a former Olympian
We show them clips of some great Runner. Articles, pictures. Will spend a couple of weeks convincing them that they were an all-time great former Runner
Then we take them out to the track and unleash the hounds
It's incredible when you see someone who hasn't walked in years begin sprinting around a track with all the conviction and dedication of a top Olympian
It just goes to show you running is 99% mental and 1% physical
Sure they'll be a little sore the next day. But certainly no worse for wear. That's why I totally believe the original poster
