Hmm...interesting. You guys think that was the right choice for him? I haven’t followed his indoor season.
Anyone have an update what's going on around the pole vault mat? Looks like a 5k woman has been down for a while now. Just saw a stretcher being brought out.
2:49-2:46 through 2k.
In field event news, Holloway 3rd in LJ as top 3 were within 3/4”
He's never ran an indoor 5k in his life.
If anyone is going to pull of the upset, it's kurgat.
Like a broken record, I sound, but this coverage by ESPN is appallingly bad. They should hang their heads in shame, but after the broadcast tonight they will high-five each other and talk about how great they were.
Kemboi to the front and McDonald senses it may be a real move. The pack is still bunched though and now it slows tremendously. Good for Morgan. Now Kemboi is Upping the pace to relieve some bunching. 66.1 for the last quarter.
Yes, no 5k seemed to be the right move for Fisher. He beat McDonald earlier this winter over 3k despite not closing as well. He has to like his chances against Morgan after the 5k, but probably not IN the 5k when they’re both fresh.
Kemboi is sustaining this move with 2k to go, but coverage has cut away to Mondo.
It appears that Mondo has won the PV. No surprise there.
63.8-63.9 for Iemboi and McDonald is still lurking as is Klecker. Now the pace slows and McDonald takes over and jumps on the gas. McDonald will win going away. Klecker appears to have second locked up.
The announcers still think McDonald is running the DMR. Highly unlikely. 55.8 close and he walked across the line to win by a full second.
The lack of prep work or understanding of a DMR is pretty amazing but this woman on ESPN.

It's pretty simple....just get 3 friends and a stick...then go down to your local track.......

They are astoundingly clueless. As a track/XC/road fan, I am used to poor commentating. This seems different though. It’s like they’re trying to act as though they have some inside baseball type info, but they know nothing.
Burke from BYU and Hull from Oregon get the baton simultaneously 3 seconds clear of the field. Oregon has it. Might as well end the race now.
Taylor Werner and speed? What is this lady on?
“Michigan cane in with the best time and they were nowhere to be found”
They didn’t run the NCAA top seed on the mile leg, Dummies. Wake up, ESPN!!
Oh, forgot to mention- Oregon wins. 10:53. I figured that was a given.
These announcers were acting like the Oreogn women win the DMR all the time - they had never won until last year. Some stat man must have todl them that finally.
Just read our previews people.
