Wanna be your own boss with job security? Divorce lawyer.
Lawyer and it's not even close. I have fought my own fights and really like it. Now I do volunteer activism with lots of research, presenting, and arguing. There is room for my irreverent streak and dislike of authority. I have met many lawyers who are really admirable people. Some are out to rob anyone and everyone who steps into their office.

If you have the opportunity, try to work on the trading floor. And then on the prop desk.
Good traders can make millions while only working market hours and there is no travel.

Plenty of words that say nothing except to note that you are comfortable, something the elites in this country are very good at. Big law is anything but noble. Finance is worse. Yes, YOU are a huge part of the problem. Does it matter to you that 99.5% of the people in this country, regardless of educational attainment, are wage slaves and will never have security, solidity, a pension? It makes me cringe how smug and comfortable American elites are, knowing full well that most of their fellow Americans are simply hoping not to starve to death in old age. That is what has become of this great land. It all needs to be reconsidered and rebuilt, hopefully using the massive wealth to be clawed back from the elites. Class division? Damned right.
Thanks for parroting some BS.
Yes, it is easier to stay wealthy if you were born wealthy. But there is lots of upward mobility in this society: The vast majority of millionaires in this country are self made. Also, ask any immigrant why they came to this country.
The problem is, the BELIEF that you can't move up is toxic. It's hard to motivate if you think you are going to fail no matter what you do. But If there was no upward mobility, why are immigrants so successful? I have quite a few friends who moved to the US as small children. Their parents worked low wage jobs but told their children to work hard. All of them are successful. Don't believe my word, just look up the statistics.
Two things poor immigrants do that working class Americans do not?
(1) dont spend all their money. My best friend's parents worked working class jobs their whole life but lived in a TINY apartment with their whole family, cooked dinner every night, didn't have lots of material junk they purchased, didn't go on nice vacations, and now will retire wealthy.
(2) tell their kids to work hard and be sensible with their career choices. Lots of immigrants I meet are in upper middle class jobs they got climbing through the rungs. You can do ok at a crappy high school, go to community college and end up a nurse anesthetist making $250k. It's really not that hard. You don't even have to be very smart. If you ARE smart, you can start a business. I started a business with $5000 of my own money that now generates $300,000 a year in profits (after i pay myself and my employees).
Or you can sit at home with your friends getting high and complain about how the man is keeping you down while you continue to make money in a low wage job that a business owner GAVE you.
But the BELIEF that upward mobility does not exist is a toxic belief that keeps people down.
