Kipchirchir has really improved bigly in the last year, he now has solid mile/3k times to go with his 27:07 10k. I can't believe he's a year older than me.

Coburn is too thick. She's like a faux-runner. A fake "fast" runner. She can't turn over with the elites. 35-year old Shalane Flanagan would have blown her doors off.

I thought it was a pretty astute observation.
They're all on the same track, and all going in the same direction.
Always interesting how people will go and call out WCAP for having Americans who are Kenyan-born. It's not like they live/train in Kenya and they also have other responsibilities that athletes such as Ryan Hill, etc do not have with their Army duties. At the end of the day they're all running the same race and I don't think being Kenyan-born versus born in America changes the fact they're all Americans and competing with the same goal. Hats off to the guys who made it and to Hill, Heath for putting themselves in it.

Yeah.
Your analysis here at the LetsRun.com forum is brilliant.

Hill is clearly getting sick of these Kenyan imports and I can understand him.
What a shame that the taxpayer is wasting money on this WCAP program, which is just exploiting immigration loopholes.
You are aware that the WCAP program is open to ALL members of the U.S. Army, regardless of where they were born? In other words, members of the white, upper-middle class which US distance runners are usually from can join WCAP. All they have to do is join the Army. Yet none do. That is for people who do not have the life options that they possess.
WCAP is also not a track-only program. Nine other sports are part of WCAP and those are NOT dominated by foreign-born Americans.

Always getting blown away in flat track events.
She always loses when she chews gum.
Coburn is a decent runner who has the best efficiency over the barriers of any steepler in history. If a man were even close, the record would be well under 7:50

No matter how many times this is said the racists on LR will never get this. Don’t waste your breath/words. I read the comments about wcap and the Kenyans and just feel sad for these ignorant people.
Albeit I don't think it amounts to a DQ, but Hill clearly reached out when it didn't appear to be necessary. I can't figure out why he stuck out his hand because he wasn't being cut off or in some way impeded. Btw, Hill has never been the nicest guy when competing.
Also, the WCAP guys have been in the U.S. on average for 7 years; they went to college in the U.S.; they have worked jobs here; they speak English; they permanently live here and they are members of the U.S. Army. On the other hand, you have a number of U.S. athletes representing counties they have never lived in and whose primary connection is the fact that one of their parents is a citizen of that country...which is ok for most of the LRC who criticize the WCAP guys.

If an athlete has a gold medal in any athletics event then idiots on the internet should not be allowed criticize them.

So you condone Hill cheating (shoving competitors) because they are better than him?
If you watch the legs you see that kip goes from the inside of lane 2 to stepping into the line into lane 1. Hill was preventing him from kicking him off. If kip had moved in there would have been a tangle. Nobody did anything illegal in the end.

It turned out that there was some very poor spelling:
Men’s 3000: Army Strong – Paul Chelimo Repeats As Shadrack Kicphirchir Outkicks Ryan Hill

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — What a difference two years makes.
Two years ago at the US indoor champs, the US Army’s Paul Chelimo first made a name for himself as an American runner when he made his first USA national team by finishing second in Portland ahead of guys such as Galen Rupp, Bernard Lagat, and Evan Jager.
He was then an afterthought at Worlds where his teammate Ryan Hill won the silver medal.

If someone is willing to serve in our fine military, they can run on our national team IMO.

Maybe it's not about the color of their skin, but just about the fact that they didn't come to the US until they were in their twenties?

Wait a minute... According to the WCAP PR story, these guys should be fighting against ISIS in Eastern Africa?
Seems like their "Army duties" are just a cover to gain American citizenship.
Why is nbc sports gold not working? I had a black screen yesterday instead of video streaming. Same today. All looks ok with 0 elapsed and 5 hours total. Go live changes nothing nor does triad or stopping and starting. Ended up watching later on nbcsn but that is limited coverage. Help desk no hep.
