It's interesting to see how many of you go to manipulate the reality, for making their opinions true.
I give you some name of athletes who had a.....short career with me :
Shaheen : he was undefeated from August 2002 till September 2006, winning 28 competitions of steeple with continuity. He had to finish his career for a stupid accident (went with the left knee against the door of his pickup, and needed a surgery in Jan 2008, but never could be able again to train longer than one month before creating again pain in the knee)
Mosop : started with me in 2002, won bronze in 10000m in WCh 2005, silver in WCCCh 2007, ran marathon in 2:03:06 and bettered the WR of 25000 and 30000m on track in 2011, and won his last marathon in 2015 with 2:06 : a very short career.
Florence Kiplagat : won silver in WJCH 2006 in 5000m, WCCCh in 2009, bettered the Kenyan record of 10000m with 30'11" in 2009, won WHMCh in 2010, bettered the WR of HM in both 2014 and 2015, and continue to win Marathons Major (Chicago in 2016).
Abel Kirui : won WCH in Marathon 2009 and 2011, silver in Olympics 2012, and in 2016 won Chicago...
Sylvia Kibet : started with me in 2004, won bronze in Olympics 2008 in 5000m, won silver in 5000m in WCh 2009 and 2011, moved to marathon in 2015 running in her only attempt in 2:26, then had the second baby...
Imane Merga : started with me in 2008, won WCCCh in 2011, bronze medal in 10000m in WCh 2011, silver medal in WCCCh in 2013, won two times the jackpot in 5000m, ran 11 times under 13' in the period between 2009 and 2015, when I decided to stop to coach him, because he wanted to move to marathon and I didn't agree.
Caleb Ndiku : started with me already as silver medal in WYCh 2009 in 1500m. In 2010, he won WJCCCh and WJCh in 1500m, in 2011 won All African Games and ran 3'32", in 2012 won African Championships, in 2013 ran 3'29"50 and started with one 5000m, in 2014 won World Indoor Ch in 3000m, Commonwealth Games, African Games, Intercontinental Cup and the jackpot of Diamond League, in 2015 won silver in WCh behind Mo Farah running the last km in 2'20". In 2016 had tendon problems, now it seems training can go ahead better, how his 7'33" in Doha without any training of speed can confirm. Wait him in 5000m in Eugene.
And, when we speak about not African athletes, the situation is the same : for example, the current Italian Record Holder of 10000m, Maura Viceconte, started with me in 1986, won bronze medal in European Championships in 1998 in Marathon, and bettered th NR of Marathon (2:23:47) and 10000m (31:05.53) in 2000,
If these are examples of short careers....
