In my opinion that is as bad an idea as Hunter being in the Bowerman mile. The race has been notably faster recently than it was in 2001 with Webb.
Hicham El Guerrouj Morocco 3:49.92
Kevin Sullivan Canada 3:51.82
Bernard Lagat Kenya 3:53.14
Adil Kaouch Morocco 3:53.40
Alan Webb USA 3:53.43
Hudson de Souza Brazil 3:54.39
Graham Hood Canada 3:54.62
Bryan Berryhill USA 3:55.01
Youssef Baba Morocco 3:55.10
Raymond Yator Kenya 3:55.12
Martin Keino Kenya 3:56.87
Daniel Zegeye Ethiopia 3:57.92
Ibrahim Aden Somalia 4:01.27
A first two laps like last year might work, but if it is like 2014 no high school athlete belongs in the field. I'd rather see them all go head to head in a race won in 3:53 with a bunch in the mid-3:50s. I think the National Mile race is the best place for all 3 high schoolers.
All I know is Hunter better run 3:53 flat. He has run basically 3:58 twice give or take a lean. He got beat by a HS kid, and another on his own, in the 800. He ran a big what 1:48 high. OH but he is gonna be an Olympian. Ok all you NCAA guys go home, Hunter is gonna run a 3:53. He better!
