10k progression for Jessica Andrews:
2012- 36:58
2014- 33:54
2015- 33:51
2016- 33:21 April 9
- 33:33 April 24
- 31:58 May 21
3 seconds of improvement from 2014 to 2015.
30 seconds of improvement from 2015 to April 9 2016.
83 seconds of improvement from April 9 to May 21, 2016.
Please explain why her 33:33 road 10K shows that she was in ~32:30 track 10k shape only 27 days before the trials and is the "simple answer".
That seems to be a very large gap for an "equivalent performance" simple answer from road to track. Her 33:21 on the track on April 9 was only 12 seconds faster than her road 10 k on April 24.
Road is slower than track, fact. If you look at the recent track PBs of the guys at the top of that race you will see that road course ranges from 40s to 1 minute+ slower. Her debut track race on April 9th was simply a performance that did not represent her ability or current fitness. It happens. Please tell me you ran to your potential every race (especially in an early season distance debut) and I will brand you a liar. Like I said, I once opened my season with a 1:58. I ran 1 week later and ran 1:50 by the end of the summer.
Progression is hardly ever linear, you are a fool to think it should follow some order you have decided. I have explained this apparent improvement, part of it is to do with that 33:51 last year being a road course and coming in a year where she clearly was not running or racing much; possibly injured I don't know. If she was injured or not training in 2015 then the progression from 33:50 two years ago to 31:58 now is not unbelievable.
You and some others like you are assuming Jess has been training like a pro for 3 years and suddenly got faster. She said herself in the interview after the race that she has been training really hard recently.
The simple answer is she has great talent and has been training hard. It's an Olympic year, she saw the possibility of making the team and went for it. The time she ran is not spectacular. Maybe if you trained hard too you might run a 32min 10k and wouldn't be so sour. Maybe your line of work has turned you into an extreme sceptic.
Either way, there is not evidence of doping and I have exhausted that fact. Your random usage of double quotation marks, confusing grammar and incessant habit of misquoting me is tiring also. I'm done here.
