14:55 hasn't been that normal in recent years, especially with the rain yesterday. Fisher didn't do it, cheserek barely beat it with Futsum pushing him all the way; Verzbicas didn't do it (yeah he jogged the last 200 meters, but he wouldn't have run faster than 14:50); and I don't think anyone since Solinsky has beaten the time without very close competition. Hunter, apparently, isn't a gun it for the time kind of guy. He's a "gamer," and performs best when he's racing against his equals or betters. That's disappointing for high school records, and seriously good for college and possibly professional running.
