Since there is SO much interest in this race, are you all going to be watching it streamed live. And will the commentary be in Spanish/Portugese? I'll be up at 6:30am here on east coast for sure to see this one.

The reason his 1500m time is his best is that that was the only very fast race he has been in since his transformation to dominance. He hasn't been in a single 3000m in the 7:20s, 5000m run in the 12:40s, 10000m run in the 26:20s, or even half marathon in the 58s since he started winning everything. That 8:03 was certainly a harbinger of things to come this year on the track.
Dominance? Farah lost the 1500m where he set an Brit and Area record.

Stop over hyping this. Mo is not going for any records.
Stop translating using google and assuming it means what it doesn't.
Mo said he is going for the win. The rabbits will go out at WR pace.
Stop assuming Mo will be able to force the other runners to run his 60 flat pace, and give him he chance to win by sitting, drafting, and kicking.
Mo is running with the big dogs here, and there is a huge WR bonus on the line. Mo will not be able to control the pace.
Anyone know the results?

If true, what a copout. Just say you aren't fast enough.
^ not til tomorrow.
Totally thought this was today. I almost woke up for it too lol
“I have heard a lot about this race and all the famous athletes who ran there before,” Farah says. “I know it is a fast course and always gets a good field. My goal is to win the race. Normally that requires a sub-60 performance.”

Farah says."Normally that requires a sub-60 performance."
I don't think Mo is a legit sub 60 half runner. He seems very confident that he is. His recent training efforts must have been stellar. Something is up.

No one said he was dominant in the 1500m. This is the period in which he was beaten for silver in the 10k at World's but won gold in the 5000m, then won double gold at London in the Olympics at 5000m and 10000m and then double gold again at the next World's at 5000m and 10000m. So, the period is 2011-15. Above the 10k, he's not been an absolute world beater but has competed well in slower half marathons. The reason that his best time is at 1500m, though, is that he competed outside his main events and got pacers to follow the whole way, including Kiprop. If he had been in that Paris 5000m that went 12:46, he'd have been that fast as well.
I don't think world record is going to be broken ,I was there when they broke 58:30 and 58:23. Mo try ur best.
I've been greatly impressed with Mo over the last few years but I doubt if he will break the WR or even win the race. If he breaks 59 mins and comes in 3rd it will be a huge acheivement for a track man and give him a lot of confidence for the outdoor season.
Any stream with English commentary??
Didn't RUPP come close to breaking the 2 mile indoor WR a year or two ago and then the rest of his year went to crap?
I agree he def needs at least couple of world records to add to his impressive resume .
In an interview this week he said he is in better shape now than he was at the London Olympic ...He is in superior shape and he knows it and I think that will show on the streets of Lisbon today !

I ran it the year Tadesse ran 58:30. Seeing him go by was amazing. Incredible pace!

What does an 8:03 2 mile have to do with anything?
Seriously.
Didn't Tegenkamp run 8:07? Did you think he'd give
Farah has proven himself to be an exceptional distance runner - but his best times have come at the 1500. His speed at 1500 is unreal.
The half-marathon is more than twice as far as 10,000. He's done NOTHING in his career to indicate he's capable of anything close to 58:23 other than win 2 global titles at 10,000.
According to John Kellogg's conversion chart 58:23 is roughly equivalent to 26:23 for 10,000.
Sorry guys. Farah's good but not that good. He's got about as much of a chance of that as breaking 3:30 in the 1500 - oh wait ;)
JK's chart is here:

^^^ An assessment that came 0.7 sec/mile away from being 100% incorrect. The capital NOTHING ices the cake. Maybe the guy that no one can beat has done a little more than NOTHING to be considered a threat to a HM time 15 seconds faster than Ryan Hall's PR.
Or 25. Same point.
