something to do with "forward propulsion"
ventolin has recommended extra muscle mass for caleb ndiku as well

Maybe he should invent a calculator that computes the figures? He could market it as a forward propulsiometer and make mega bucks.

the man makes a kaput anorexic look like ronnie coleman
As if he doesn't have the basic speed?
46-flat/low likely, is good off no discernible physical strength
what if he did have an iota of physical strength ???
And anyway people who talk about more muscle mass are clueless about strength to weight ratio, and how more muscle mass will actually slow a runner down, even a sprinter
no
the maths of slowing due to increased mass is incredibly simple
the gain from that propulsive muscle mass gain is ?impossible to quantify but above will give us something to chew on
asbel has found some speed & whupping nijel who currently is in ~ 1'41.4 shape has to indicate something no worse than 1'42-flat, maybe as quick as 1'41-mid
his 1500 may have drifted out from 3'26-high last year to 3'27-high/3'28-flat this year
if asbel weighs 125 & can run 1'41.5 / 3'28.0 currently
if he puts on 5 lb propulsive muscle, his slowing due to increased mass ->
1'42.9 / 3'30.8
the 5 lb of propulsive muscle has to overcome a handicap from it's intrinsic mass of 1.4s over 800 & 2.8s over 1500 to :
"pay it's way"
is it a viable investment ???
that is $64k question...

...Why couldn't Ryun, who showed all the potential, also have dropped much more with the right pacing, someone to draft off of to 1100 and a synthetic?
great post
& i'd like to add for dozenth+ time i am NO Ryun fan
i cheered wildly as a youngster when keino whupped him in '68 but remember his words to his boss when back home how he was shocked Ryun didn't whup him in final by proverbial mile
keino was not even going to run 1500 final if not "robbed" of 5k by a north-african guy he thinks was a travesty that day
i analyse without prejudice as only absolute truth counts & as i have said numerously, i am NO Ryun fan
the analysis unquestioningly offers peak Ryun in a '70s fast paced to bell off assumed "pure" 1500 training as
~ 1'39.9 / 3'24.2
Do you think any other runners have had that ability?
Does anyone think Kiplagat has a shot at the WR now that he has the faster PR?
