Last week we saw a group of fans at the Indians-Rays game going with red-face paint and hugely caricatured white eyes and bright white teeth.

Does that remind anyone of something from our not-so-distant US history? Switch that red face paint with blackout face paint, keep the white eyes and teeth and what do you have? You have someone immediately getting escorted out of the stadium or beaten within an inch of their life is what you have.
Just think about it. If you think the blackout face is racist but the red face isn't, I'm not sure what to tell you. If you do find it cringe-worthy that this group of fans chose to go red-face, then why are we allowing it to be continually portrayed on team jerseys and hats?
It's amazing that we have a group of people clamoring over themselves on a message board to show each other what is and isn't racist based on a few high school mascot anecdotes. Amazing.
