please bring back the zoom marathoner.
please bring back the zoom marathoner.
Originals were best for workouts/races, 2's were better for everyday training (didn't feel as fast and were wider and more durable).
I love the 2s. Great for training and racing. They gave me blisters on my insteps though. And the foam wore down pretty fast from running on asphalt and woodchips.
everything about the shoe is great, keep em light, keep em soft, just fix the heel! I wanna be able to run 10 miles in em with out having a bloody sock afterwards.
I like the release version of the original except for the color(s).
LunarRacer2 was a crappy shoe and should not have been called a racer.
Please release a standard color.
The 2's were boats compared to the 1's (original and new 1's).
Wider toe box might be nice....

new colors are available now, the redesign won't be available until fall, at the earliest
nikeman, will there be any other colorways (other than the blue/orange currently available) released this spring/summer before the update of the Lunaracer?
Nikeman was a fraud. Nike doesn't care about the input of actual runners into their shoes.
And you're an idiot.
The shoes that Ritz and Abdi worte in the marathon trials are the London Racer, a new racing flat with a lunar midsole. They will be available to the public later in the summer or early fall. I know for a fact that the design team at Nike in Beaverton has read this thread and took all of the input into consideration.

Ignore the trolls. Can you answer my question from above...

Thanks.
As you can see, Ritz and Trafeh are wearing the same shoes, which seem to be relatively flat with some lunarlite foam in the forefoot. Abdi, on the other hand, is wearing something closer to the Streak 3, with no visible lunarlite foam. Maybe this reflects the fact that Abdi heel strikes but Ritz and Trafeh do not.
Hopefully not to late, but the sole durability could be improved if the BRS-1000 lug configuration was modified by extending the lateral heel lug all the way to the lateral edge of the sole. For most people, the medial BRS-1000 heel lug is unecessary. Also, I would recommend extending the forwardmost BRS-1000 toe lug more distally to the front tip of the sole and across to the lateral side as well. I would also recommend adding the BRS-1000 lugs to the other 2 lateral forefoot pod sites.
no new Lunar Racer colors coming that I know of.
Abdi, Ritz, and Trafeh were in the exact same shoe with the only difference being slight color variations.
There was no Lunar in the shoes worn at the Trials.
Take note of New Balances RC1600 and 5000. Great color options and even better fit/feel : )
I actually was standing by Ritz at the elite hospitality room the day before the race as he explained his shoes to somebody. He said the midsole was lunarlite foam. And he thought they'd be out in the fall.

I liked the feel of the shoe, but these things blistered the hellllll outta my big toe. I used them on an 18 miler, and then raced a marathon in them and had terrible blister issues.
I still like them but I have to limit my exposure to short workouts.
Actually the London Racers DO have Lunarlite midsoles. The same material used in the Lunar Spiders.
Ritz and Trafeh were wearing the London Knit Racer. a Lunar shoe, Abdi was wearing a shoe with the Knit upper and the original Marathoner midsole/outsole. Bairu wore a black version of the London the following day.
There was no Lunarlite foam in Ritz's shoes at the Trials. Midsole was Phylon.
