What's the update on this guy?

Getting there.
In an earlier post after his 2:51 @ Chi he asks:
"Are all the doubters right?"
Yes Jason, they are.
It's like a train wreck! Can't help but watch!

has Rahm raced this year yet? Surely he's making another marathon attempt and hoping for a miracle.
From his blog:
Plus, if I manage my mileage a little better and actually get some quality speed workouts in, maybe I’ll get lucky and hit that sub-1:05 Half standard.
When you're a 2:51 marathoner, how do you "get lucky" and drop a 65 minute half?
Well he is working on getting his speed back.

He's making progess, just ran a 1:05:10 10 miler. That's only about 20min away from the Half standard.
Getting there.
The most recent comment indicates that he just ran a 10-miler at 6:30/mile pace. If this is true, then I'm closer to the Olympics than this guy, and I'm a 37-year old 1:25 half guy.
Looks like the posts have dwindled of late. Does his employer not realize that they let a very mediocre runner take off work to train for a zero-probability event?

Keep in mind that I went from 2:44 in May 1989 to 2:23 in November 1990. 21 minute improvement. Can this guy improve by 28 minutes and make the Trials?
It's up to him and him alone.
His life is his business, and not our business.
My only advice to him is to quit worrying about his shoes and drinks and small stuff like that and just train hard.
Jason
+1
can anyone translate what he said?

So if he can run that pace for the first 10 miles of his half, all he has to do is run the last 5k in under 50 seconds and he's in!
This lunatic has a better chance of showing up on a news channel than qualifying for the trials. How can somebody be so completely delusional?
Not enough people close to him are willing to call him out for his B.S.
I can understand the bashing, considering that this guy has swindled his employer to give him some support and the know-it-all-ness of the blog. But, I am not really all that pissed off by it.
I am actually kind of fascinated by this guy. He is not a dumb guy. While not anything enlightening, his writing shows a half decent level of intelligence. And, save for the olympic dream, there is nothing about his blog that would lead you to believe he is actually coo coo for cocoa puffs crazy, like a Marshall Burt ETG kinda guy.
So, what is really interesting is the fact that this guy has to be intelligent enough to have some level of self awareness about how crazy his goal is and how he should not be getting support from his employer or putting out a Mr. knowitall blog. Yet, he lives the lie. You have to wonder what his internal dialog is like? I am sure he has been at the track doing 400s, realizing that he was just around OT marathon pace. Does he argue with himself about whether his dream is stupid or does the little voice in his head just say "you are doin' super, keep it up buddy--today 400m, tomorrow 26.2!!!"?
