Lol. My man, what is wrong with you?
When exactly did I claim to have predicted Solinsky was going to unleash anything??
And while you are absolutely correct in that, relatively speaking, Nike doesn't spend any real $$ on marketing distance running, I'm still not sure what your hangup is. There is no doubt Nike wants Rupp to be the next Pre. In fact, for those of us at the race, we have our own little "Go Rupp" noise fan thing-a-majigs that Nike reps were handing out to the spectators to use to cheer him on to the new AR. There is no debating that Nike has its own little Rupp marketing machine- you are correct in that it's no Lebron marketing machine, and it's not a Lance marketing machine, but that's beside the point. In fact, I don't really even think you have any points, aside from conjuring up arguments through the selective editings of prior posts.
To try and clear things up for you, I will summarize my salient points:
1. Great race by both guys, with Solinsky coming out the better man. Given the work that Rupp put in leading the pack after the rabbits dropped out, I agree with the OP- Solinsky perhaps owes Rupp a fine dining experience at Red Lobster.
2. In retrospect, Solinsky made the pre-race Nike hype surrounding Rupp look silly.
I do want to thank you: your tough guy internet persona and name calling have been good for a laugh. As has your constant need (on multiple threads) to try and bash Rupp (ironic coming from the guy who feigns support for Nike's efforts to create new fans). You know what? I'm not a big fan of Rupp either, but he ran a helluva race, and he's had an unbelievable career for a 23 year old.
That's about it- that's really all there is to it. I'm done indulging you in some sort of nonsensical debate about irrelevant (or just plain fabricated) tangents that you keep pulling out of your a$$. Keep on bashing, brother!
