To be honest ,I didn't win it. I traded elbows with this like 9 year old girl. I handily beat her by 14 seconds . I ran 15:42. The dude who won was like some middle school ringer in 14 flat. At the turnaround , the dude looks like he's JOGGING !!!

no worries, his IT bands will be toast by age 17
No Viagra before the race. No sense diverting blood to where it won't be used for a few months. Those hammies are crying out for some RBCs....We 50+ guys take longer to warm up our bodies than it takes to warm up our cars.
I take pride in the fact that 10th, 11th, 12th place overall in yesterday's booming 7500 runners Drumstick 5k were Masters aged 48, 49, 43. We ran as hard as we could. It felt great. That's all that matters.
Major bonus was racing alongside my own two sons.

May you wake early to stretch those creaky joints
May you have a brisk 40 minute warm up to get your heart rate over 115
May you be filled with visions of your glory days as you elbow your way past those teenagers in the first 800 meters
May your spectacles stay put for the entire race
May you NOT wear spandex tights near your kids
May you NOT wear your age group medal after the race
May you save the $25 gift certificate to the Country Bumpkin Kitchen for a special night with Mrs. "Masters runner Still Hanging On to the Dream"
Wow! I haven't read the whole thread, but can I say? You can kiss my young-looking azz! Don't be jealous b/c we age gracefully!
Results from last year's Dana Point Turkey Trot:
5 Peter Magill 15:14
Pete finished actually two places below Cristian Cushing-Murray (15:07).
I think I know how many young guys posting in this thread would have a chance in hell against either of them.
Hell, I just keep running in my 50s because I tell my wife "it's either this or guns and liquor." See ya at the Berbee Derby
