Biden dropping out makes Trump the sleepy old guy. Worse, there is already an incredibly large never-Trump voter base that will come out no matter who the Dems pick. Finally, Kamala will absolutely shred him in a debate because there is so much material to work with. He will lose big and then face years of criminal trials followed by prison.
She always sounds like a 14 year old giving a book report on a book they haven't read.
She may very well. Is that a prerequisite for a candidate in this race?

Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump recently called the Bible his "favorite book" while on the campaign trail, but he apparently doesn't want to discuss it in interviews.
Trump was asked to name "one or two of your most favorite Bible verses" during an interview on Bloomberg's television show "With All Due Respect" Wednesday. He wouldn't answer the question.
Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump attends a news conference regarding issues on undocumented immigrants in Beverly Hills, California. Thomson Reuters "I wouldn't want to get into it because to me that's very personal. You know, when I talk about the Bible, it's very personal, so I don't want to get into verses," Trump said, adding, "The Bible means a lot to me, but I don't want to get into specifics."
Later in the interview, host John Heilemann asked Trump if he was "an Old Testament guy or a New Testament guy."
"Probably equal," Trump said.

"Two Corinthians, right? 3:17, that's the whole ballgame," Trump said. "Where the spirit of the Lord, right...there is liberty. Here, there is liberty...Liberty University, but it is so true. You know when I think, and that's really - is that the one? Is that the one you like?"
2 Corinthians 3:17 :
"Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
If you can't understand why he would reference that at a speech at Liberty University you're too dumb to be voting.

I didn’t mean to suggest that invoking Liberty is wrong in that context. Rather, after sounding like an addled 14-year-old who hadn’t read the book when talking about the Bible before, he needed to be prepped by his staff to have a good answer. They came up with one for him, and that’s how he delivered it.

Do you have the bible memorized?
Do you think Biden or Kamala have any idea what the bible says?
Based on the manic posting of the usual right wing nut jobs here about her, creating tons of threads, I’d say she has a chance. Probably a better chance than the infamous Doritos bag indicating a red wave.
“The significance of the passage of time, right? The significance of the passage of time. So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time,”
On women's history month:
“So, during Women’s History Month, we celebrate and we honor the women who made history throughout history, who saw what could be unburdened by what had been,”
First one: Obvious blunder. I would never suggest that she’s brilliant or a gifted public speaker, just that she’s better than Trump.
Second one: The speechwriter took a swing at “lofty and poetic” and whiffed, but not as badly as you sometimes see/hear.
Bad use of repetition in the first sentence just gets muddled and is barely better than some kind of overwrought dreck like “effected change across the ages.” The second sentence is similarly weak, but it’s not nonsense at least. They saw what was possible, “what could be.” And they were no longer constrained by what women had faced in the past; they were able to do this “unburdened by what had been.” You can picture that almost working (if not quite) coming from a speaker similar in skill to Obama, even though he’d have to be careful about his idiosyncratic pause/emphasis patterns.
But perhaps if you were in Harris’ place reviewing the speech during the car ride to the event, you would’ve scoffed, “no way I’m saying that.”
Since we are discussing Bible verses, I will share my favorite:
Genesis 3:15 - "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
Any analysis that examines Kamala’s “unpopularity” but doesn’t acknowledge Trump’s is… not a good one. Trump is not a strong candidate by any metric!
I don’t think Kamala is an outstanding candidate but you don’t need one to beat a candidate as weak as Trump. Reason for optimism.
Based on how brainwashed you’ve been on COVID and the vaxx, I’d be shocked to hear anything else from you. I now consider Trump a lock. Next, please provide some investment advice so I can take the opposite trade.

Would you call 2 Corinthian a. Second Corinthian or b. Two Corinthian?

I’ve never called it my favorite book, and the first remark by Trump was a reply to a follow-up that was asked after he had called the Bible his favorite book.
Moreover, this isn’t about me, but it’s entirely possible that I clear the low bar of having greater command of facts and being more articulate than Trump.
The key point is that if we were to list the 50 best and 50 worst moments of Trump and Harris speaking, I’m very confident that Harris would strongly appear to be the one more strongly in command of facts, the English language, and general thinking capacity (again, it’s nice to have a low bar to clear).

And nice try on moving the goal posts to insinuating that one must have the whole thing or even substantial parts of it memorized.
For answer one, he just needed enough detail to explain, not necessarily anything verbatim. For the second, he had a prepared speech, time to prepare, and a script
Trump’s populism is real in the sense that his followers perceive him as someone who cares about them and is going to fight the establishment on their behalf. But it’s all fake because it’s built on the false premise that he is similar to the everyman.
This is a guy who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. His entire life has been spent in elite wealthy circles. He is a con artist, and his ability to convince his followers that he’s like them and cares about them has got to be one of the biggest con jobs in American history.
Americans are well aware that Trump is a billionaire who started off as a millionaire. Americans are well aware of the many firings and throwing-under-the-busings of former Trump admin officials. Trump has been a very public figure for a very long time. The average American knows that the true feelings of the left hold them in utter disdain.
Apparently some people hold this "better than you" attitude so closely that they just can't help it. It leaks out every once in a while even with the national-level politicians ("deplorables," "bitter clingers," etc.) but is constantly evident in online and even everyday discourse with leftists now (most people, including Democrats, were appalled by the shooting at the Trump rally, but you still had leftists, even on this board, wishing or justifying murder of Trump AND people at the rally).
The Democrats have a disdain problem, and they're lucky the Republicans haven't figured out that a "they hate you" campaign commercial would strike a nerve. Unfortunately, the disdain problem is a huge blind spot for the Democrats because it's real disdain. Most donors and staffers aren't going to have very many (if any) working class friends and they are driving the narrative.
My prediction: Happy Gilmore for the win.
I don’t see how Democrats can be described as having a disdain problem when Trump is the candidate who literally incited violence at the Capitol. His rallies are all about fanning the flames of hatred towards those he considers his enemies. His followers are obsessed with “owning the libs” and openly talk about a civil war. A member of his own party, Nikki Haley, requested Secret Service protection because she was getting threats from Trump’s followers for challenging him in the primary.
American politics have become a lot meaner and angrier since Trump entered the scene in 2016. Trump’s own rhetoric has become increasingly caustic, which is saying something. If anyone has a disdain problem, it’s Trump.
It’s also weird to liken Trump to Happy Gilmore when he very clearly has much more in common with Shooter McGavin.
I doubt it. When she ran to be the democrat nominee 4 years ago, she was one of the least popular candidates and exited fairly quickly.
I doubt they have much faith in her but they have no choice. Sleepy Joe was getting destroyed by his own press and party, but evidently the Democrats will take a lucid but low IQ candidate over someone who forgets where the bathroom is.
Expect a lot of the "first woman President" nonsense to be trotted out repeatedly over the next 4 months, and expect any legitimate criticism of her to be batted away with accusations of racism and sexism.
That's the beauty of taking an interest in politics over the last 10 years. You can see through the BS.

I realize she's the current VP, but I always took it for granted she would not be a serious consideration if Biden were to drop out. Now, it seems like she's almost a shoe-in for the nomination, something I find very surprising, almost as if the Dems are deliberately taking the L this go around so they can focus more on putting forward a real candidate in 4 years. Polls have shown Kamala Harris is hugely unpopular... Does anyone seriously think she can win?
Harris a thousand times better than Trump.
If we based elections on the folks on letsrun, Harris wouldn't stand a chance. The white guys on here can't fathom that a black female is better, smarter, intelligent or more accomplished than them and always say she was only hired because she was a female and black. According to them no one is qualified, especially a black female.
^^^^^^
The fvcked up and perverse irony is that this mentality expressed above, which Harris has expressed more than her fair share of times, is the primary reason why she will likely lose to Trump. If we could get people like 45877 and Harris to just STFU about their claims of racism for the next 5 months, we would have a much greater chance of defeating Trump (which should be the ultimate goal for every sane person).
“You know, when we talk about our children — I know for this group, we all believe that when we talk about the children of the community, they are a children of the community,”
This from an administration that cancelled community for at least two years.
"We invested an additional $12 billion into community banks, because we know community banks are in the community, and understand the needs and desires of that community as well as the talent and capacity of community." - Kamala Harris
