I'm interested to hear about his success in life for the 40+ years outside of the years the Youngs and Sahlmans were on the team. When did all this winning, over and over happen? From what I can tell, there isn't anything in his life before NP that anyone would call real success and there hasn't been anything since anyone would call real success. Did he have any previous coaching success? Any real personal running success? Professional success? If you view his overall life as very successful, I'm not sure how much real success you've been around.
He was chasing the dream without much success into his 40s. He was long known as the guy who would exaggerate his accomplishments and wanted to be elite so bad. He was a tag along.
He found his niche with high school coaching. And did a great job. He loves the sport. He also loves himself a lot.
The story behind NP is remarkable, but what's remarkable about it has very little to do with Sean.
How coincidental that two families produce 5 young runners who are all in high school at the same time, and are all phenoms. And this isn't just high school. Nico is an Olympian and Colin is hot on his tail. They followed each other to college at NAU and Aaron is there too now.
The story of these two families is certainly one to consider. But Sean is making it about himself. And truthfully there's not much to Sean or his coaching. It's about the Sahlmans and the Youngs.

I agree with this 50%, but they say the definition of luck is preparation meeting opportunity. Not everybody could have done what he did with those 2 families. But it's very true that 99.9999% of hs coaches will never have that kind of talent land in their lap at the same time.
so ya i think brosnan is awesome, but i put more behind the guys like soles, mostert, etc. who have sustained it over a long period of time with several different groups of talent.
100% FALSE. If NPHS had had a coach even 80% as good as Sean, each of those boys would’ve been 30-60 seconds slower over 5K.
Did you know that Sean had to convince Nico’s parents that running is a year-round sport? And that skiing and running don’t mix (after an injury Sophomore year)?
There is so much that very few know about Sean, his coaching prowess, and the Program. Almost all will be covered in REDEFINING FAST. I can’t wait!!! 💥💥💥
Sean, you announce a book but the book is not available for sale on Amazon or anywhere else? Is this announcement that you are starting to write a book? Cover first?

Coming soon! Not hard to understand. Someone asked when it’s coming out to buy and he said via IG “pre sales in mid August”
I have my fingers crossed that this guy finally gets another coaching job somewhere, anywhere. Please.
Maybe then he will stop the incessant posting about himself.
He actually barely posts. And he’s rarely ever in the posts. It’s not hard to see his IG for yourself. Besides the fact that 90% of athletes do nothing but post about themselves and this is not the case here.
His last post was an announcement for his book. Hardly incessant posting. I’m personally not a fan and was expecting something crazy after reading your post.
I also work in media and to be honest he should be posting more with his name in the running industry.
