I’d say any world record quality multi would win 8-12 medals in the speed/power events.
The throwing events would be the biggest adjustment since all the implements are half the weight of the men’s, so it would be more about timing then muscling the throw. The hammer would be the trickiest and most time consuming. The other 3 would be a matter of timing the finish correctly and its full send.
Honestly these type of male vs female events would be very interesting and crowd pleasing to watch. Whatever happened to Duplantis vs Fraser-Price?
Personally, I would watch that! But I don't think they would be "crowd pleasing" for normal viewers. Beating up on ladies would not be a good bit of Olympic TV.
If we ran the top high school boys against the women's Olympic medalists, it would be a massive blow-out (except for the marathon) but who would really want to watch that? We already know what would happen...
Just about any top male 5K/10K runner could win every women's distance event even with all the rounds. 800, 1500, steeple, 5K, 10K and marathon, so 6 golds.
Well, I don't know about the marathon. There are a lot of American marathoners who would love to run a 2:11...
Yes, Karsten Warholm would win the 100-400, 100 hurdles, 400 hurdles, long jump, triple jump, potentially the high jump/pole vault/800 and who knows on any of the throws. He would also win the heptathlon.
I'd say him or Grant Holloway, both had experience in the multi-events in their youth days. and would take 100-400 plus both hurdles and few of the jumping events (Holloway has LJ pr of 8.17/8.32w and HJ of 2.16) plus the hep.
surprised only one person mentioned holloway, as he is the first guy i thought of. Multiple 43.xx relay splits at florida, plus the LJ/HJ combo you mentioned (also worth noting he set that HJ PR at age 16!!)
